If Baca won't do it then I will- SW:CCG Dream Card Contest!

Make a card of anything you want. Prequel-Classic-EU, whatever. We will vote for the winner in the next contest. This contest ends... two weeks from today, which is Saturday, February 21 (I think). I don't know what 2 weeks from now is. But make some cool cards!

Sessile, tree-dwelling mammal. As a defense mechanism against the predatory vornskrs, ysalamiri can negate the Force within a 10-meter radius.

There would be dark and light versions of this.

 

Do you have a graphic version of this? Because it would help if you did (that's kind of the point of this).

 

Graphical dream cards are illegal.

 

That's why I didn't run one.

 

And that's why I told Baca "Don't run one". LFL (and Decipher somewhat) have been cracking down on these public CCG dream card threads/sites lately. Sorry guys.

 

As I'm sure most are well aware, my site was taken down at the request of Decipher. It's a shame given the cards are fan based and really don't hunt anyone (IMHO). Interesting that WOTC doesn't seem to mind.

Graphic dream cards are only illegal if someone cares. I've personally made over 50 graphic dream cards, and I've never once had anyone tell me to stop. There's nothing wrong with them; they don't hurt anyone.

 

It's weird. I wonder if the TCG ones have just dodged the bullet so far.

 

Well if someone tried to profit from them I would understand their cracking down. Selling the cards, making T-shirts and the like would definately be an infringement if profit were the motive for those making them. Some companies just cherish their property more than others I suppose. I've seen WOTC officials view graphic dream cards on other sites without commenting that they were illegal.

LFL and Decipher is cracking down on the CCG cards simply because they are competition. Money, time, and or focus taken away from the official card game due to the potential popularity and use of graphical CCG dream cards is the same thing as "making money" in the eyes of the legal system. You don't have to like it, but those are the rules.

Decipher cracks down on them because they don't want LFL slapping them with a lawsuit, thinking Decipher is advocating them.

So guys, please do not post links to graphical CCG dream cards from these boards. For now, just use text. Thank you.
