If I wrote the novel after SbS...(Spoilers)

All right, keep in mind when I do this that I know nothing of the upcoming novels, i've just read up to SbS. So if anything conflicts with what is known about the next novel that's why.

Also, this is not speculation or based on any rumors or spoilers. Just a summary of how I would write the next novel based just on what has happened so far.

Here Goes.

It's a troubling time for the New Republic. They have been forced from Coruscant and deep gaps are forming in their ranks. Some planets have already left to go out on their own and try to make piece with the Vong. They have scrapped all technology and hope they can join with what seems like the eventual winners of this conflict.

Other planets have come to believe that the corruption and diversity of opinions in the Senate lead to indecision, and that is to blame for the current crisis. They have left to fight the Vong on their own.

About half of the planets formerly part of the New Republic remain, and they have no leader. Inspired by Leia's speech, many Senators have called for her to re-ascend to the post of Chief of State. Leia is grief stricken, with one child dead and two still missing. Han convinces her that the best thing she can do for the memory of Anakin and the safety of Jacen and Jaina is to reunite the New Republic into one force to fight the Vong. Reluctantly, she accepts the job.

As she accepts it, she makes two proclomations. One is that she has authorized the reformation of the Jedi Council. This causes some planets who blame the Jedi for the problems of the galaxy to walk out and leave the New Republic.

Leia also announces that as long as they are at war with the Vong, all decisions willbe made by the military leaders, Antilles and Bel-Iblis. She is done with politics, and gives them control, but when the Vong are defeated, she will return and oversee the formation of the new government.

The Jedi are subdued. They lost many. Jacen is captured, and the stike force has reported to Luke that Jaina has shown dark side tendencies, and has left to get Jacen back.

Kyp confronts Luke. He says Luke's decisions were wrong and now the NR is falling apart. Luke suprisingly agrees with him. He says that right or wrong, those decisions weren't his alone to make, and he calls for an immediate meeting of all Jedi to elect the Jedi Council.

Tsavong Lah is not exactly happy either. He has recaptured Coruscant, but still more problems are present. His warriors are running into many problems trying to rid Coruscant of the underworld inhabitants. His new arm is still growing, and he fears that it won't stop until he sacrafices one of the twins. There is also bickering among Nom Anor and Vergere over what to do. The world ship they used for cloning is in its death throes. Nom Anor calls for a retrieval. Vergere thinks that the sacrafice of the twins is more important, and that Jaina will not wait long to pursue her brother. Lah sides with Vergere, and orders them to stay on Myrkr until Jaina arrives, capture her, and force her into a fight with Jacen.

Part II
The Jedi gather, and it's time to elect a council. Many Jedi want to be on the council, especially Kyp, but five are elected to serve. Luke, Mara, Cighal, Kam, and Tionne. Kyp is outraged, but asks the new council what they intend to do to defeat the Vong. After some talk, the council decides nothing for now. The Jedi need to regroup and rethink their attack. The most important thing anyway is that they try to unite the New Republic, because the different factions working separately cannot beat them. So the Council makes two teams of Jedi. One will stay and try to research and learn new ways to combat the Vong, while the others will spread out on diplomatic missions to the planets that split, trying to bring them back.

Kyp, and a few others do not like this, and walk out.

Han and Leia talk again. Han wonders when they will have a memorial for anakin. Leia refuses to until the twins have returned home. Han agrees to help out. He and Lando will set off, taking the long route around the military front, to Myrkr to try to get the twins back. Leia though, decides she will use her abilities to try to gain some support. She will set off for the Empire, to meet with Palleon and get the Empire to join their efforts fully.

Jaina, still in a rage, takes over a ship and flies back to Myrkr. She lands and and begins to search for Jacen. She meets some packs of warriors and kills many of them in cold blood.

Jacen is imprisoned, and is trying to be reshaped by the Vong. To retreat from this, Jacen enters a trance where much of his conscience retreats to a Force protected part of his mind. Just enough is left our to keep up the charade. Jaina however, feels Jacens Force presence disappear, and fears he is dead.

Leia reaches the Empire to talk to Palleon. He agrees that the Empire will be an eventual target, and now is the time to join forces to defeat them before they have the whole galaxy under their control. One of the Grand Moffs however, anticipted this move, and has taken Palleon and Leia hostage in a coup. He will only agree to allow the Empire to help out if they regain control of Coruscant after the Vong are gone. They stay at a standstill.

Han and Lando set off for Myrkr. along the way they stop off at a space station for a short refresh before making the final long jump. While there, Han recognizes a familiar face, the mayor of Serndipal. thinking he was dead with Chewie, Han now racesa after him in a hall thinking that if he survived, maybe Chewie did too. Han never catches up to him, but Lando pulls some strings to find out where he was heading. Han decides to postpone his search until after he finds the twins. (This actually pays off in later novels if I wrote it)

Jaina decides that her best way to find Jacen is to be captured. She is and a duel is set between her and Jacen for the following day. If they don't fight, both will be killed.

Leai is still held hostage, and to prove his point, the Grand Moff shows her the destruction of Bilbringi and other planets as the Vong continue to expand. Leia, knowing that without the help of the Empire theie new bas will be found soon, agrees to thier terms. If the Vong are defeated, the Empire will gain control of Coruscant.

Han and Lando arrive at Myrkr. On the surface, the fight is about to begin, and is shown to Lah by villip. Jacen pops out of his stupor before the fight, but keeps acting as though he was broken. He actively attacks Jaina with the feeble weapons they were given, but tells Jaina by the Force that he has a plan.

Lah watches the match, and his new arm creep close to the shoulder. he is convinced that when one of the twins is killed, the growth will stop.

They fight back and forth. Jacen takes the advantage, and is about to kill Jaina. Lah watches as his growth pauses. Jacen then turns and starts to attack the Vong as they are caught off guard. The growth procedes past Lah's shoulder, making him a shamed one.

good imagination, but id be suprised to see half of it happen as youve written

 

Like I said, wasn't speccing on what will happen, just what I'd do.

Agree though that this maybe throws the story for too much of a loop to ever be written.

 

errr...ya forgot the part where Jimmy comes back!!!

 

How anit-climactic would that be?!?

To kill off a character and bring them back in the next novel.

but actually i like that outline more than virtually 80% of the NJO's to date.

LFL is wasting a great opprotunity to tap their fans for stories. I have read stuff on Fanfix.com that was way better thab the rash that passes for SW [Darksaber, CotJ,DC [was ok],PoT ] anyway I am all for fans taking over the NJO if j'man stays gone past the 4th book. and I would vote Corran P, top o' the council.Course if we win and the EU community sides w/ us over the Vong like LFL you'll have to give Coruscant back to the New Republic which can now be called the Newer Republic.



Actually other than the Jimmy thing I wouldn't have leia gve Coruscant away. Other than that it was great.

sorry, but I don't think I have time to do much more than an outline for a novel (unless I was being paid for it of course)...But since this one was well liked, I'll do another sometime. As you can see, I left quite a few loose ends and such with this one. I'll have to look and see how many books are left to be done to spread them out.

And Leia giving away Coruscant, well, it kind of creates a sleeping with the enemy element to their union with the empire now.

I left out some details of how that worked, but you got the general idea.

anyway, preveiw of the next outline: It will explain why Han say the mayor of Serndipal, more of the consequences of crashing the world ship into Myrkr, how the Solos finally deal with life without Jimmy, and where Tsavong Lah ends up, and what he ends up doing.

 

Well some of you liked my 1st novel after SbS, so I'll give you another one. Remember thought, i'm not really keeping too much to the structure or titles already out there for future novels, so if I'm off, I'm off.

Here goes:
Already overtaken by another Grand Moff, Palleon fears for his life now since he still holds some political sway with members of the Republic. Sensing his death is coming, he fakes his own death and takes a ship to leave Imperial Space. He is caught by Imperial Forces on the way out and his ship is thought to be destroyed, although he pulls off brilliant maneuvers to make sure the ship is only disabled, and hides, hoping to be picked up.

Lord Shmirra has an offer for Tsavong Lah. He fels the gods have another mission in mind for Lah rather than being a shamed one. He says Lah cannot live though, but can carry off one last mission. He must go on a suicide mission to find and kill Jacen and Jaina. A new warmaster is put in place. He is ruthless and by the Vong book. He decides that the problems of taking out the underground inhabitants and the problem of axing all the technology can be do0ne at once. Rather than fighting them and carefully taking apart the buildings of Coruscant, he decides to collapse the buildings on top of the inhabitants of the underground.

Han and Leia are at odds again. She and the twins are due to make a diplomatic missions to several planets near Vong space. The twins are along for protection, but Han does not want to go. He wants to go back out with Lando and track down the guy who he thinks is the mayor of Serndipal. Leia says he is just trying to track down Chewie when he should be with his family in troubling times. Han tells her he thinks this guy is essential to the war efforts as well, and they depart.

Nom Anor is transported with Vergere to the Jedi. On the way, the Peace Brigade intercepts the ship, taking back Anor and the Shamed Ones, but not knowing who Vergere was, didn't kow what to do with her. seizing the opportunity, Anor says that she is not in with the Vong, leaving her to be taken to the Jedi, a fate he sees as bad, and fitting for her.

Han and Lando are always one step behind the "Mayor". They do realize though from his pattern, that he is headed for Imperial Space. They jump ahead and catch up to him. When they find and talk to him, he acts as though he does not recognize Han, and has never heard of Serndipal. Thinking he is lying, Han takes him hostage and orders him to talk. The "Mayor" refuses to talk to anyone, and says he cannot discuss matters with Rebel scum. He will only talk to the empire. Han, thinking the NR still has a tenative friend or two among the Imperials, heads off for Imperial space with the "Mayor" still a hostage.

Leia and the twins head off to several of the worlds they had planned to go. The twins get into several arguments about how Jaina used the dark side of the Force and he might not be abl to trust her and Jaina back at him saying if he were more aggressive maybe Anakin wouldn't be dead, etc.

Luke has a sit down with Vergere. (This is very long and talkative, but very important. I though of great dialogue, and may use some of it, but mostly this is a recap)

Finally in close contact with her, Luke thanks her for her help. She says she does not want to help the Jedi, she is trying to help the Shamed Ones. She tells Luke thier story. A while back, the Vong were not great warriors. They lost many battles and planets in some large wars. A leader decided their problem was that they had too much repsect for life. It made them too soft and unwilling to die for thier cause. He started their religion of death worship and pain to drive away the respect for life, making them better warriors and the dominant factor in thier galaxy.

Not all have the opinion of disdain for life. Over many years, many Vong come along who don't share their views. Shapers secretly give them deformities, making them shamed by the gods and reverting them to servants. They endure much hardship in the

 

All right. Last call. anyone want me to go on with this, or just let it go. Be honest, won't take it personally, but can't keep writng them if no one wants to read them....

The ending of the second one sounds a bit cheesy, but I like your ideas.
