ST If Luke is married, what 50-60 year old actress would you cast?

I don't care for 'Jean Grey' as an actor - she falls so flat for me.

What if it is Luke's wife who has been "missing" for years and not Luke himself?

Luke and his child searching for her would fit in with a knight's quest, like the Holy Grail - The Searchers in outer space

 

I think Dervla Kirwin would be perfect for this role, she's got that star wars look!

 

Too young, unless the intention is she is only ever seen in old holographic images and videos.

A good choice though - the more Irish the better

Actually, I just realised, from another thread, that Episode VII is 30 years after RotJ - putting Luke at about 55.

So the age difference with Kirwan is more respectable.

Unless, the period between ANH and TESB is going to be adjusted.

 

Less if you go with low-end timeline figures - Luke only having just turned 19 by the end of ANH, TESB being only just 3 years later, RoTJ being just over half a year after that - Luke could still be 22 (but nearly 23) in RoTJ, and 52 (but nearly 53) at the start of the ST.

 

Six months seems like a long time to wait to break Han out of Jabba's palace

 

Maybe they all really hated Han, but they were then like "**** it, he has nice hair."?

The mention of Dervla Kirwin before reminded me of Shirley Henderson (I always get those two mixed up since they both starred in light-hearted BBC shows (Goodnight, Sweetheart and Hamish MacBeth respectively) at around the same time and they then both had substantial guest roles in the relaunched Doctor Who. As well as Doctor Who and Hamish MacBeth, Shjirley had a small role in Harry Potter. She was born in 1965. This is what she looks like today:
