    Sorry, she's retired nowadays: http://www.abc.net.au/news/2012-03-18/dame-edna-calls-it-a-day/3897072

I'd love to see a lightsabre versus gladiola duel though...

    :D

Regarding Alice Krige (sp?), we might actually know what happened to her as Luke's wife, and might explain Cyborg Luke.

For details, see Star Trek: First Contact. :p

I just did a search on YouTube. Surprisingly, Dame Edna has never interviewed Hamill, Harrison Ford or Carrie Fisher. I would have thought at least one of them would have been on one of his/her chat shows at some stage.

I'm surprised at that, Carrie and Dame Edna would be hilarious.

What would everyone in this thread do if Luke Skywalker's character was rewritten for him to be gay? It would be an interesting change instead. There may be no Skywalker offspring it would make his character unique though.

Star Wars isn't a good vehicle for that kind of social commentary. Trek or Doctor Who are better vehicles for it.

Doctor Who is a much better vehicle for individual social commentary. Star Wars is more of a broad stroke kind of commentator.

Yes and Star Wars is more about politics than social issues except maybe Leia who subverted the whole damsel in distress stereotype and partially-rescued herself in ANH.

Big problem right there. It would be rewriting him, since he has been shown to be attracted to women. I don't want any rewriting of classic characters just for the purpose of making a statement.

I missed some obvious ones, so here we go again: Rebecca Gibney is 49, Sigrid Thornton is 55, Kerry Armstrong is 56, Helen Buday is 52, Jacqueline McKenzie is 46, Zoe Carides is 52, Genevieve Picot is 58 and... Kylie Minogue is 46. Okay, that's my country's talent pool exhausted. :p

Never heard that nickname. I never took much notice of Minogue before, but a couple of years ago she was on Jools Holland's New Year Hootenanny....

She's acted in SF. She did an episode of Doctor Who a few years ago.

I guess she and Skywalker could sing the "Luke-omotion" together! :p

i dont think he'll be married. as much as i liked mara jade, i think luke went the celibacy route. if luke did have a girl i think she died a long time ago(between jedi and ep. 7) causing luke to be very bitter and damaged.

Yes, that might be a bit of a rehash of the Anakin route though of being unable to save the ones he loved.
