ST If Luke is married, what 50-60 year old actress would you cast?

Luke should have an inappropriately young girlfriend, played by, like, Miley Cyrus. She is very loud and dresses kind of slutty even for solemn occasions, like meetings with the new Jedi Council. Luke is a bit ashamed of bringing her along, but stays in the relationship because of the mind-blowing sex. Behind his back, Han, Leia and Chewie makes a lot of faces and raised eyebrows.

 

How about Annette O'Toole? I don't know how old she is exactly though. The mother from Fringe was mentioned before. She could probably balance caring and kick-ass. I always felt Luke would need someone like that. He just always seemed the type of guy who would want to get married and have kids. I know it would be easier just to make him into another Ben-type hermit, but I think he's just got too much of his father in him.

And regarding Mara Jade: I feel like she has enough potential to be given new life in the ST. Aspects of her character were a good fit for Luke, like her loyalty and humor. An older Mara, who is Luke's equal (meaning NOT overly sexualized, domineering, or ridiculously good at everything) whose strength is felt more than seen would be a strong addition to the ST. (Oh, and her fighting style should be close to Frigga's in The Dark World.)

That would be a good choice since shebhas worked with Lucasfilm before.

Genetically impossible. Even in a science fiction film. Finn would have to be played by a bi-racial actor or even a Will Smith type with a lighter complexion just to make that believable IMO.

Now if you want to claim that Finn is the adoptive son of Luke that;s a different story.

I'm like 99% sure IF they even go the route of Luke having been married, the wife is sooooo dead by the time of TFA. That way they can establish the relationship backwards and possibly introduce the character in one of the spin-offs with a young actress in the role and let the novels fill in the rest. Also having his wife's death be a reason for the exile would be an interesting parallel to Vader, but hopefully she didn't die of a broken heart.

That said, if by slim odds they do go this route, I'd go with Charlotte Rampling.

I'm fairly sure some version of Mara Jade will appear in new canon, whether or not she ends up as Luke's love interest/wife. Disney knows already how the Black Widow character has grown in popularity; they basically have their own version of a Black Widow character to play with (esp if Marvel isn't doing a BW solo movie, there's a market out there clearly). The female anti-hero genre is getting more steam at the moment as well with stuff like Orphan Black, the Dragon Tattoo movies, Gillian Flynn material, etc. But let's be real, if they end up going that route, Disney is for sure going to mostly keep her as a young woman and probably kill her off before she gets older/less attractive. Honestly, I'd prefer if she was modeled more after an Agent Carter type (strong, a little more aggressive than her love interest, but not a sex object) rather than Black Widow since it took 3 movies for ScarJo to get any serious meat to her role while she spent most of Iron Man 2 as eye candy.
