ST If Luke is married, what 50-60 year old actress would you cast?

I thought Luke and Mark Hamill were roughly the same age?

 

Hamill was 25, I think, when playing an 18-20 year old Luke. By the time of RotJ, only four years had passed in the GFFA, whereas it was twice that in the real world.

Now, TFA is being set only 30 years later, which means that Hamill is now 10 years older than Luke.

Hamill still looks much younger than he is so it all works out.

At 72, he'll probably still pass for a guy in in 50's. Alas, it is not so with us all.

 

Like my girlfriend, she's 34 and can pass for 24. However, that's not uncommon with Asian women lol

But of the "big three" Harrison Ford physically is in the best shape. He's always worked out regularly from what I know.

As far as Luke goes, I just hope he has an awesome moment in TFA, even if he's not in a lot of scenes.

Actually, I've lived and worked quite a bit in China, Korea and Japan, and it has always surprised me, still does - it is like they've got a fountain of youth.

I mean, seriously, Grace Park is 40, or something? That is madness. When she started in Hawaii Five-0, I'd have said 25 ... tops .... and only that because she'd spent a few years in Battlestar Galactica. And she hasn't aged a day since she was first Boomer.

We need a strong woman who can look 50s-60s while being a recognized actress who has a reputation and is experienced in Sci-Fi...

Personally, I think Cate Blanchett is the only one for Luke.

 

Why a "recognised actress" with a sic-fi past?

 

The scifi part may be unnecessary, but back in the day, Lucas picked Veteran actors for his older characters in the film. Cushing was an English star from the Hammer films and Guiness had street cred too after winning the Academy Award for Best Actor in 1957 for his role in The Bridge Over the River Kwai.

So basically I assumed they'd do it like Lucas would (or, better yet, that if I were them I'd do it like Lucas would).

There are plenty "older veterans" without going down the route of someone very well known, but I also get your meaning there.

To be honest though, my first reaction to Weaver is "nah" - she just feels wrong, even without the context of what type of character the wife would be. I can't quite explain why, but she just feels wrong.

I'd prefer an actress who isn't so well known rather than cast an actress to add another big name.

 

If anyone is Luke's offspring, that is what would decide who to cast as the mom...
If Kylo Ren is his son:
If Rey is his daughter:
If Finn is his son:
If Poe is his son:
If BB-8 is his... whatever:

 

Kate Beckinsale.

She is actually 41yo. If Luke is 53ish then make her 45-48ish. She would do very well in the part. IMO

Glenne Headley passed away suddenly last week so I am glad no one listened to that idea of mine or we would have another Leia situation.

In all seriousness and sincerity, RIP Ms Headley. You were a good actress who never quite received the recognition (or the roles) you deserved to really break through.

Thank you for the enjoyment you gave me as a youngster when I saw you in Dick Tracy.

My utmost sympathy and love to her family.

 

Terry Farrel. She might be taller than Mark Hamill, but I'm ok with that, cuz Jadzia Dax.

 

I grew up watching her in 'Dirty Rotten Scoundrels'. She was a great actress! I didn't know she passed recently. That is sad news. RIP Glenne.

I think your being quite rude and close-minded with your suggestion of "human" homosexuality(ugh). Luke should marry someone of the Gungan race in my ever "factual" perspective(you know, like Jar Jar. He'd be a great husband). He's the Key to everything..

Kids these days...It's the 31st century and people still won't accept Gungans in out culture. Whatever Jar Jar did does not represent all Gungans man!
