or Margaret Colin
Oops make that Maria Bello. Pretty and cozy, not stunning. Luke doesn't seem to go for models.
Jane Fonda? I want Bridget Fonda.
I'd rather see Peter Fonda.
Helen Mirren LOL!
Raquel Welch! She still looks better than a lot of 30 year olds now!
Marcia Gay Harden (female lead in Miller's Crossing) is another strong actress in that age range who never quite became a household name. Here is how she looks in 2013:
Julianne Moore as Mara-Jade Skywalker.
I must say, nothing against any of the lovely ladies on display here, but this thread has only reinforced my belief that Luke shouldn't be married. This just feels all wrong to me.
Bridget Fonda is a giant hole in the screen. A pretty giant hole mind you, but still...
George Lucas didn't seem like he was too thrilled at the notion of Luke being married in the EU, and so I'm not sure he'd have provided treatments in which Mara is in fact married to Luke past/present/future storyline-wise. That isn't to say though, that he didn't change his mind, or maybe J. J. is willing to overlook his feelings on the matter and go forward with it anyway, but eh...not sure.
Anyway, getting with the topic of the thread, Sandra Bullock. Next year, she turns 50, and she just recently starred in the blockbuster Gravity...and yes, I'm typecasting her based on her performance in another space movie. Nevertheless...
Jill Jacobson. Saw her while watching TV the other day, she looked familiar, so I Googled her. She's been in practically nothing over the years, but still looks pretty good for her age. Decent actress, but not likely to outshine the acting abilities of the other cast members. And, for all you Mara Jade fanatics, she's currently a redhead.
We could go in a completely new direction and cast Rosanne Barr!
I actually prefer Rosie O'Donnell or Liza Minnelli
can't find a new picture, but Judi Trott from the old Robin of Sherwood series is in her 50's.
Felecia Bell is in her 50's. This pic is from 2009.
Funny because that's my grandmother's name and since the pic you posted with it isn't showing up on my computer I'm going to assume you suggested my granny for the role. Yes, I think my grandmother would make an ideal wife for Luke.
How about Helen McCrory? She doesn't fit the 50-60 age range, but I don't think the first thing Luke is going to do when he goes on a date is ask for her birth certificate.
Here's another picture of Viola Davis since the other one isn't showing up.
She's a wonderful actress.
Sigourney Weaver. She's a redhead, so she can already play Mara Jade, and she has a history wit Sci-Fi/Fantasy franchises.
Madge from benidorm is perfect for Luke she has the skin of a woman brought up on Tatooine
