If the ST goes horribly wrong what will you do.

I am staying that Jar Jar would be a jedi in the trilogy and has to to find Mickey Mouse to learn the ways of the force = Horribly Wrong.

 

Meh, if they're really awful I'll watch them for the sake of completion then just ignore them.

 

If they were truly terrible, so bad I can't watch them (and I can stomach the PT) I'll probably stick to the original 6 and the EU. So I'm not worried. I'm not that worried about the ST. I can usually roll with anything and I think I can do it here

 

If they are PT bad, I'll wait for a talented fan editor to take a whack at fixing it before passing final judgment.

TBH I am quite positive for the first of the 3 at least. Disney are not stupid. They know that if the 1st film get's a good rep then no matter how bad the other 2 are, people will still go see them regardless and trust me they have 4 billion to make back.

In all seriousness, though, I will be very upset if it goes awry, but not enough to turn me away from Star Wars which, to me, will always be Lucasfilm. I'm honestly more worried about Disney misusing the Star Wars image in their Kingdom Hearts franchise. As a moderate gamer, I've been a fan of the series for 10 years, but, as you all know, the Star Wars canon is not meant to be played with in that manner. While I don't want the following words to come back and bite me, I will probably never touch the KH series again if there's a Star Wars world in an upcoming game. For me, it's nothing short of defiling the Star Wars canon.

 

Meh. Even if the ST goes horribly wrong, it doesn't cancel out the OT and all of the quality Lucasarts games that have been made over the years. I'd probably go back and play a decades-old Star Wars game and mutter about the "Golden Age of Star Wars" to anyone that will listen.

If VII bombed I wouldn't care. Would see it anyway and likely still enjoy it. I have a habit of repeatedly watching (and loving) horrible films. I watched the original Judge Dredd over and over for 16 years till they released the new version.

This has already happened in my perspective. Everything NJO in the post-RotJ novels, basically. Which disgusts me.
I stay away from what I don't like and remember the stuff that I believe is good, like the Old Republic Jedi glory comics.
Also, I have back-up fandoms I can run to.

 

Well, NJO is not cannon, it is separate stuff based on SW according to Lucas.

 

Still, as you say, it is not absolute cannon:
When it comes to absolute canon, the real story of Star Wars, you must turn to the films themselves—and only the films.

So again, hypothetically if the ST goes horribly wrong, I would hope that any star wars movies after that will not be horrible and do something else like hiking.
