Adi Gallia's game was one of my first exposures to the EU.
I'm excited if Lupita is really going to have a role.
Personally I like imagining a scenario where the genders of all gendered characters in Star Wars are flipped so I almost thought "Mace Windu".

Just to clarify, they were actually all hermaphrodites---like Verpine, but more believable. But I think SW needs more diversity in gender instead of typically confining most alien species to human gender stereotypes.

*Maybe* he's a light skinned black dude, but he's not really contrasting that much with the white girl next to him.

My first thought was Hispanic, or some other kind of mixed race.

I like to think that the headdress isn't a cultural thing but a subcultural thing, like they're goths except with squid tentacles instead of spikes.

I never thought I'd see someone on these forums post/quote Rubberbandits. Well done and Happy St Patrick's Day even if you just earwormed me with "Horse Outside" by the very mention of their name.

I realize how this sounds and it's always an iffy sentence to make, but based on experiences living in some racist Michigan towns...dude looks not-white enough that someone would ask; "So...what are you? Where's your family from? What kinda name is that? Doesn't sound Corsucanit? Etc, etc...."

    Or maybe a religious thing.

I mean, sure, Adi is herself a jedi, but some other jedi have symbols from other religions, like Bariss and Luminara's tatoos. Maybe Adi Gallia comes from a family that worships Tholoth, the Devourer of Souls.

I just like to think that Adi Gallia is so badass that she has a legion of fangirls -- including another Jedi Master who cosplay as her.

I like to imagine the Kaleesh as sequential hermaphrodites (until proven otherwise - but it would explain why polygyny is so common) so Grievous was assigned female at birth.
It also bothers me that the Shard, who are sentient crystals, have genders. I'd rather think of the Iron Knights as agender!

If you don't want to be it, fight it or **** it its place in Star Wars is as background colour.

What do you think this is? Science Fiction?

Now, if this was Star Trek...

What is it with the Trek digs? Trek and Wars are different that's okay.

That wasn't a dig. That was me saying this is one of the ways trek and wars are different.

It might not have been so bad if the rationale beyond it had been something besides "omigod you guys these two characters have the same style of hat."

I can't watch it because I'm in Australia, but it should work for those of you in the US

Trek is ahead on the diversity front. U will never see a funeral pick where is a bunch of white dudes, a few white women and a token alien that is for sure.

Although the aliens aren't very, so I have to take points off for that.

But I think it's probably fair to say that while Star Trek has never been as progressive as its fans like to think, on the whole it has been better about diversity than Star Wars.
