Wasn’t there an unnamed species of butterflies in Darksabre that build very beautiful but impracticable ships? And just flipping through the Wookieepedia I stumbled across the Noehons, which really are criminally underused in SW lit. Though of course a species of brutal slavers that only happens to be about a meter tall might be hard to pull off, though it also works with Dugs, so why not. Oh come on, the Ropagu deserve some love, after all they are one of the few pacifist societies in the GFFA. With more people like them around they would not have wars and genocides every other week.
About the Noehons, I need to ask... Why a loincloth? Do they have genitalia like scorpionflies, and it's just curled up and hanging free? Is it to cover an ovipositor that people mistake for a stinger (see: Ichneumon)? North American bearded robber flies have theirs covered by a tuft. Honestly, unless you know what you're looking for, you wouldn't really see anything. Though, they could simply be modest. That's a perfectly fine excuse.
Seeing as how Vratix go around naked, and Verpine will sometimes let it all hang out, it just seems odd seeing loincloths. Full attire, I can give that a pass. Loincloths seem just... odd.
The more important ones might really go for a full attire, including jewels, a crown, cloak, fine off world silks, after all their social systems seems to be very much about showing off and getting valuables.
I‘ll have to check Hark'rs and Tir'uhs WEG profiles, maybe they mention attire or special possessions.
One thing about the new Triumvirate in LEGACY that's good... not one human male! Just a young female human, a male Whipid, and a male... wait a sec, I can't tell if Stazi is Duros or Chiss...
*wipes froth* Bit of housekeeping--my Goran and Medrit poll is officially closed, and the official results officially say that well under half of Lit members caught on to the gay relationship directly from their reading of LotF, and barely a fifth caught on from Sacrifice, the book that, technically, first confirmed it. So the next time someone quakes in terror at gay characters being crammed haphazardly into the franchise, we know where to point them. I can't help it if it's constantly appropriate.
At least a cocoon would be nice. Edit: Don't Ruurians turn into something like Moths at later stages of their lives?
Thank the owners for that particular bit of nonsense. It's not even as though slash is any more out there than the het fics can be, though - I could write a time-travelling Exar Kun/Daala fic and it would be A-OK, but heaven forbid Kyp Durron and Corran Horn settle their differences in bed or something.
And woe betide anyone looking to write about Beviin or Juhani.... We should start a petition. "Get Slash Allowed" or somesuch.
While I'm not against people devising random slash couplings as they please, I think this really proves a serious, specific hole in that policy. These are canon characters who have canon gay/lesbian orientations, and in Beviin's case, a canon gay marriage. That's pretty screwed up that no one can write stories here about a canon happily married couple, just because said relationship happens to be between two men. Are there any other canon characters that are banned when it comes to writing fanfics?
The excuse given is that this is a 'family friendly' board. But you know what I hear, when I hear 'family friendly' in this context? I hear 'only friendly if you're the kind of family we approve of.' I hear 'we're refusing to admit families come in more than one shape.' I hear 'Kids from gay families? Tough luck, you won't find your family represented here.' And it disgusts me.
