ILM no longer number one...what went wrong

for years ILM has been the daddy of the effects industry, visionary directors have used them to make there dreams come alive on screen one such director is james cameron who together with ILM has broken new ground with every film he has made.
cameron knew his dream movie avatar could become possible when he first seen gollum in lord of the rings,i admit when i first seen gollum my mind was like is that a real person or cgi. so now it seems cameron has found a new effects daddy to bring his dream to life WETA digital.from what i have seen of avatar the cgi looks awsome,better than anything i have seen ILM do in years.
so what do you think are ILM finaly being knocked off the top spot in the effects industry

Considering WETA is mostly composed and run by former ILM employees, I don't see what your point is.
