If you like a certain pairing in Star Wars you 'ship' it. Shortened from 'relationship' I think. You can ship canon pairing like Luke/Mara and Han/Leia. Or, if you like Callista better than Mara, you can ship Luke/Callista.

It means, support a certain pairing, and can be used in context out of fanfic, too. Provided the other knows the term. I see my failure there.
