Hey folks. I'll be in Sin City from 9/6 - 9/11. I'm staying at the LV Hilton. I understand that it is way off the strip and that I'll need to rent a car while I'm there. Is this the case? Are the cabs safe at night? Just how far away is the strip? Sorry to be a bother, but the last time I was in Vegas, many of the modern attractions didn't even exist. Thanks for your help.
While the Las Vegas Hilton is not ON the Strip, it is in no way far from it. If you intend on catching cabs at the Hilton or other major hotels and casinos, then you will be much safer than trying to get cabs off the street or in less heavily trafficed areas. I sure hope you enjoy your visit to Vegas, and since you are staying at the Hilton, do not let yourself leave without checking out Star Trek: The Experience.
