Based on her three Gamer shorts and the DJ excerpts, I'm finding myself VERY unimpressed with Elaine Cunningham, and I'm sorry to say I no longer have much interest in Dark Journey.

I'm reading TAS first. I didn't much like The Apprentice, the other two were okay, and the excerpt was nice.

I do judge upcoming work on previous work, exerpts, shorts and interviews and I'm sort of mixed about Dark Journey.

I was wholly unimpressed with her Red Sky, Blue Flame. I thought I was mistakenly reading a recruitment flyer for some sort of cultish Thrawn-Fel Admiration Society. I had to double check several times that it wasn't the case. [face_plain]

I'm still looking forward to Dark Journey more than I was Balance Point, but not as much as I was before reading Red Sky, Blue Flame.

Hopefully, Cunningham can stay away from Larry Stu'ing the character of Jag Fel. That's probably one of my main concerns about Dark Journey.

Do you think you could go into some more detail Mastage? After reading The Apprentice, I'm looking forward to DJ.

They cost to much to hire, and I don't think they do franchise work.

well they can use the old mind trick

LB- "You want to write NJO for free Tom"

Clancy- "I want to write NJO for free"

Tom Clancy was payed to put his name on all that crap Op-Center &c.

Anyway, I agree with Ghengis about RSBF. Crystal was interesting, but the writing style didn't grab me. Same with the excerpts from DJ. The Apprentice was just very weak all around. The writing, the situations...it just didn't feel "right."

Then Lucas must love you. IMO, some of the stuff with a SW label slapped across it has been utter poodoo.

What about CLive Cussler? His book were great! Could not put em down! He does action adventure books. Great series. He should write one or two star wars books. If he did, there wouldnt be any romance stuff in it.
