JCC I'm screwed: The Tunick life at Wally World

I'm one the way home now (the bus just passed a Borders, which had a big 'Going out of Business' banner on the roof.........that made me sad), and I did ask her about going to game in a couple of weeks.........she said "sure!". So, tentatively, I've got a semi-date in 2 weeks. Holy hell.

Okay, I have two things to bring up.

First, let us examine this situation.
1. Tunick smokes a cigar before work. It almost certainly leaces some trace odor, even if he can't detect it because he's used to it.
2. The girl is known to hug him closely enough that she "presses" when she sees him, presumably not terribly long after the cigar.
Conclusion: She's trying to quit smoking and you're her nictonie buzz. She wants to go to the Dodger game with you because she guesses that you will be very smoky and she can sniff your beard. Yes, it is creepy. Yes, you should run. Attractiveness be dammed.

Now for the far more important thing.

WHAT?! Are you referring to the one on Canoga?! Is it going out of business? I haven't been over there in awhile! Tell me everything you know! That's like my favorite bookstore ever!

This is far more important than Tunick's silly romance problems.

Also you should really look into getting another job since you've been there for SEVEN YEARS and you've always hated it. Do you like complaining? Is that it?

 

I've got no idea. ZAP, it's the Borders on Tampa at the Northridge mall. However, I believe the whole company is going out of business, so that location on Canoga won't be around for much longer. And I have looked for other work over these past 7 years.............it never panned out, obviously.

I've known that it's in dire straits and thy were looking into bankruptcy options, but I always hoped they would find another way.

Also, you should probably find out about transportation in case she expects you to drive. Does she know you don't?

 

Sorry to break it to you dude but Borders is history. The last major store (which happened to be the first to open down my neck of the woods) is closing its doors this weekend. It is gonna suck, since it was my place to go for usually cheaper new BluRays/DVDs and the rare book I might've been interested in. It was such a successful store (supposedly the most lucrative nationwide) that some local entrepreneurs want to buy the space or even its name to keep it open, but I doubt that'll go anywhere until the bankruptcy is settled.

Yesterday, I took the annual Wally World survey (done on a computer). To the following questions, I clicked on the "Severly disagree" option:

Would you recommend Walmart to friends seeking a job?

Are you energized at work?

Do you feel that you're adequately paid for your work?

Do you feel a connection to Walmart outside the job (ie: paycheck)?


I literally laughed out loud at those. You sometimes can't make this **** up, which reminds of this doozy (that I first posted on Facebook a couple of weeks ago):
