I might be repeating myself. I have seen these before but don't recall posting them here for you viewing pleasure. Searched for "fantasy art monks".

 

I'll be damned if this didn't finally show up on the internet. It's just a simple bit of interior work from a D&D supplament called Sword and Fist which depicts a prestige class called Duelist.

 

Various images of Loki Bound, or Loki and Sygin(his wife). The first is my fav by Ekersberg.









After arranging Baldur's death Loki goes about pissing of the rest of the gods and they seek to imprison him. Loki flees and creates a house on a hill with 4 windows to have a view in all directions in case the gods approach. They do of course and go to his house where he takes the form of a salmon to hide in the nearby water. They flush him out where Thor catches him and they bind him in a cave. One of his sons is turned into a wolf who then eviscerates the other son. His wife, Sygin attends him by using a bowl to stop the dripping venom from a serpent placed there by the gods. He would remain this way until Ragnarok.

This is a work called "Green Light" by SID75. It reminds my of a series of work used as cover art for H.P. Lovecraft anthologies that were published a while back.
