I see Palps more like the first early on in his reign, but after the death star goes boom he goes out of the public eye.

Is vadar given any sort of official backstory to the public bu the empire.

 

I have no idea. I expect the first 45 minutes of Palpatine's day consists of him getting out of bed, eating his cereal, and constantly thinking to himself "I can't believe this whole thing worked out so well." I want to see a Palpatine who just struggles to fill up his, now usually much more boring, day and is wildly inconsistent because of it. Though I guess we'll get something more rational and consistent.

 

Once you've conquered the universe, there pretty much isn't any where to go but down

 

I don't think we can surmise how Palpatine acts as emperor in the OT based on the PT. In the PT he's always scheming just to get there, we don't know what he actually does when he gets there. And you're really confusing me on the OT... Palpatine is so closed-off, secretive, and in the habit of letting others get the job done that we don't even see him in person till the final film...

 

I was thinking much the same.

The PT is an altogether different ballgame, and the OT? Disbanding the Imperial Senate certainly is a matter of state, but I always figured that could have been done by the issuance of a decree, rather than through any public appearance by the man, himself.

I'm open to either interpretation, myself, though, and I do think the question of how the Emperor will be viewed during the height of his Imperial reign is an interesting one. I hope Rebels (and yeah, the HoloNet, too - again, what a fine idea) will begin to give us these answers.

 

Agreed Trebor Sabreon I think it's an open question the films don't necessarily force one way or the other. I definitely don't want to see Darth Sidious, but I would not at all mind seeing Emperor Palpatine on this show, if you know what I mean.

 

I do want to see Darth Sidious during the Imperial Period, but I agree that Rebels - and absolutely the obviously public HoloNet - are not necessarily the venues to see it happen.

Now, the new canon novel Sith Lords, on the other hand...

 

Trebor Sabreon exactly, I want there to be a clear dichotomy between Rebels and TCW in how often and in what capacity we see him.

 

I suspect that we will see Palpatine far less often in Rebels than we ever did in TCW.

As to the nature of his character, if and when he does appear? I suppose we'll have to wait and see.

 

I kind of suspected that Palpatine appearances would be very scarce, just because he only appeared in the final film of the OT. That's a shame, as the episodes with Sidious taking action were the best ones.

 

So, it's been a couple of weeks.

Surely, I can't be the only one here who is ready to see the HoloNet receive an update beyond those first three clips?

 

I'am. I really liked the first three so far and I'm eagerly waiting more.

Anyone know if these are going to air weekly with each episode in Rebels?

 

It sure did!

In an earlier post, I highlighted the HNN features that I used to love:

I don't think I'm forgetting anything. Anyway, they were all just terrific and I loved them, every one.

Argh. Not another dead project. This one's momentum fizzled faster than the online comics.

I hadn't noticed the update to this thread yet, and just now decided to check the HoloNet to see if we'd seen any updates.

Well, what do you know - maybe they heard our pleas? Or (probably far more likely), they'd just been planning an update, all along.

Either way, I'm a happy fan!

 

Garell (the planet mentioned in the latest HoloNet News report) is apparently the planet the Ghost crew goes to in the first episode of Rebels. I wonder if we'll hear anything about the statue or protest in that episode?

That's in Spark of Rebellion, the TV mini movie. The first episode of the actual TV show apprently has them going to Garell.
