Imperial March original concert version...

...as heard in the TESB album. I've had a long time to listen to the concert version, and did so yesterday. Do you agree that this version, when heard in its entirety, is almost humorous and campy? Not "March of the Villains" (superman) kind of camp, but a straight-faced, tongue-in-cheek camp.

 

I don't think it was intended to be 'campy', as you describe it, however the fact that it's been used over and over again - not just in Star Wars - does lesson it's seriousness slightly, I feel.

But not by much, and the variations of the theme heard throughout ESB still give you the feel of the power of Vader.
