It was a very brief reference, with zero context provided for a more thorough analysis of the event. That having been said, of course Dooku had access to the Spaarti cloning devices, through Sidious. Although the Cartao factory got blown Rocky Mountain High, Palpatine managed to sock away enough of them at Wayland to make the occasional Tyranus clone a reasonable proposition. Or on Byss.

From what I recall, the C'baoth clone didn't require any massive training once detanked; in fact, odds are there were samples of Dooku's DNA present within the mountain...had Skywalker and the Noghri been a skosh more thorough in their post-detonation canvasse, things would've gotten more interesting for the galaxy with a few thousand viable base sequences.

Here's the passage; it's an internal monologue, i.e., Dooku thinking to himself:

Even Darth Sideous, with a gleam in his eye, mentioned the boy as strong in the Force. "Just a little piece in the great game," his Master had said...

    [...]

The same Anakin Skywalker who, he had learned, had recently killed a clone of Count Dooku of Serenno. Poor foolish clone.

In the New Droid Army, Dooku says "remember what you lost the last time we fought?" - referring to Anakin's arm.

Which obviously isn't true, seeing as Anakin didn't lose any appendages in Clone Wars...

...but what can we infer from this (other than the fact NDA originaly took place just after Geonosis...)?

    Either...

the clone was the Dooku at Geonosis, or (the more preferable alternative) the clone was created sometime after Geonosis but before Raxus, and therefore has an "older" version of the real Dooku's memory.

The phrases two birds and one stone come to mind...

Also, if he was cloned, it would have to have been fairly recent. Since the Spaarti cylinders are now usable, and we know from HTTE that Spaarti clones (when grown too fast) can become mentally unstable. That might explain his growing resentment toward Sidious, as evidenced in DR.

Or he doesn't consider the battle in The Clone Wars a duel.
