    Folks,

As it turns out, Pinckney is full on the weekend of August 9th - 11th.

I've found a new area we can camp at. Please PM or email TheHuntressDiana or myself for details!

    Thanks,

    -Jason

Ok, here's the deal. If no one objects to the location change, then I'll go ahead and make the reservations tomorrow around lunchtime. I'll try to get campsites that are located near each other, but I can't make any promises, as I'll be stuck with whatever is available.

I need to know how many people are going to be staying for the weekend. Based on the list that Motman had, I'm going to assume that there are 12 people who are interested in camping, so that would require 3 campsites (4 adults per campsite).

Kate and I just plan on showing up and hanging out for a bit (maybe Friday night and Saturday afternoon)... but we do not plan ot stay the night... I'm just a little too taken with my comfortable bed (and air conditioning) to give it up (not to mention with this weather I've been real sore recently and sleeping on the ground won't help me one bit).

    Ok Folks,

I've reserved 3 adjacent campsites. Total cost for the campsites comes to $96.

I'll be there at checkin time (3:00pm) on Friday to get the sites and start setting up. There are only 4 adults per campsite allowed overnight, so we have the capacity for 12 people to sleep over.

It's not about being a narc.

There are minors in our group and I know that most of us are concerned for their safety (as should their parents) as well as our own responsibilities to ourselves and to those who are in our care.

This also happens to be the weekend of my church's annual camping trip. This is why I didn't even bother trying to sign up. ;)

It is at Myers' Lake (maybe for the last time), which is in the Fenton area. I certainly cannot make any promises, but it's entirely possible that I may swing down sometime Saturday for a visit. Who knows?

Good golly I hope I can at least make 1 more meeting this year!

Well, this is what the DNR site has to say about pets on its camp grounds. However, you might want to inquire with the specific camp ground just to make sure.

We are sure that the very fact you have your pet with you is evidence that you sincerely care about the welfare of your pet. Pets in a public park can be a problem to other park visitors unless the owner takes the necessary steps to ensure that his/her pet is properly controlled. Many complaints are received each year and a number of serious injuries have resulted because of failure to control pets.
Following are guidelines which will make your stay enjoyable and eliminate problems which could be caused by your pet:

    1. Never leave your pet unattended.

    2. Always keep your pet on a leash which must not exceed six feet in length.

    3. Don't take your pet to the beach.

    4. Don't leave your pet unattended in your vehicle or camper.

    5. Wrap your dog's droppings in newspaper and discard it in a trash bin.

    6. If you walk your dog, do it in an isolated part of the park.

    7. Don't allow your pet to run loose at any time.

    8. Don't allow your pet to be noisy. Barking dogs are a source of many complaints.

    9. For your protection make sure your pet has rabies shots.

    10. Don't tie your pet outside unless you are with the pet and can control it.

Please remember that the park is a strange environment for your pet. It may react much differently here than at home. Children are attracted to pets and we have many injuries reported involving pets which normally are very gentle.
