You MUST have a working email address in your profile.

Your username will be transferred to the new boards, BUT your password will not be.

The ONLY way you can get a new password will be to have it emailed to you.

In short, if you have no email address in your profile YOU WILL NO LONGER HAVE ACCESS TO THE BOARDS (unless you have a new username)

 

just to clsrify; is that a public email or can you just rely on the private email?

You just have to look in your user profile and make sure your good email is in the private email section, not the public one.

What's about to happen: IGN is planning to export our forum data ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 21ST.

The effect it will have: The JC is about to undergo a major upgrade. After the move, all the current glitches like new user registrations and email notifications will finally work again.

How it will happen: When the time comes, the boards will shut down completely for a period of 1-3 weeks while the data is being moved. A temporary board will be up in its place during that time.

Where we're moving: The current boards are hosted by IGN using their proprietary board system. We're moving everything to TFN's servers and using a system called Xenforo. It's new, and has a lot of cool features other forums have.
ALL ACTIVE USERS - UPDATE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS OR BE LOCKED OUT OF YOUR ACCOUNT!

In order to ensure you can still log into your account after the move,please make sure you have a working email address filled in under private email address in your profile so that you can have your new password emailed to you when the new boards open. If you don't, you will be locked out of your account after the move!
