this will make some people happy.
Lucas to shoot next ?Indiana Jones? in 2007
It's about f&*##*@ time!
The countdown begins -- May 2008 release!!!!
Dang I thought this was coming out in 2007, I can wait though. And Steven Spielberg is directing!
(looks at watch)
They better hurry I guess. May 2008 isn't as far away for a release date as you might think, movies take a while to get through post these days.
Rick McCallum loves you!
Well, they claimed there wouldn't be a whole bunch of CGI effects, so it might get through post pretty quickly.
Spielberg has a reputation for shooting his movies quickly, but I'm still not sure 5 months is enough time for the pre-production on a film like this. I get the feeling it'll be more like 2009.
Unless, of course, they've been quietly doing preproduction for a little while and are just now announcing the project.
The Hollywood Reporter: "Can You Dig It? Fourth 'Indy' in '08
War of the Worlds started filming in '04 (it might have even been the last quarter of the year) and was released in '05. Indy IV will film in June '07 and be released in May '08. It's science.
It's looking like their closing in on a greenlight. Honestly, I don't want to see another Indy film, as I'm too scared about them messing the series up and ruining that perfect send off at the end of Last Crusade... however I do fancy seeing a new teaser trailer in the cinemas.
So, I'd like a teaser trailer, and nothing more, please.
Official LucasFilm Press release
YES, YES, YES,
The film has plenty of action in store for the rogue archeologist. Harrison Ford comments " I'm delighted to be back in business with my old friends. I don't know if the pants still fit but I know the hat will. "
just imagine what it'll be like when we get the full title for the movie
If it's anything like the prequels, it'll probably be revealed around Comic-Con time.
I'll believe it when it happens for real.
Well, given that a start date has been set and all concerned parties have been committed, I would definatley say that it is "happening".
Does anyone else hear about these projects where they bring back an old character and instantly start to think about how the opening is going to look? I feel like that moment when we see the character again for the first time is so important in setting up the rest of the movie. Raiders of the Ark had the greatest intro ever, and I just hope this new one can be as good as that one.
I just wish Lucas would get on with doing the new projects he is always on about....
Agreed. I am glad he is producing Indy 4,but I wish he would either buckle down and make that "Small Personal Film" he is always talking about or shut up about it. That line of his has become a joke.
This is the closest we'd get to an episode 7 annoucement right now!
I've been offline for a month so this is the first I've heard of this. I can't tell you how excited I am. The schedule is no problem as already mentioned. Spielberg didn't start filming War of the Worlds until late October early November of 2004 and got it in theaters by June of 2005. Indy 4 won't be as effects heavy as that. They'll make it.
I can't wait till the release the title.
I'm sure everyone will hate it at first.
