It will be great if JW is doing it..I have faith in him too.
Up, with a reminder not to spoil anyone in the other threads! Thanks!
KOTCS soundtrack speculation-
Well with the Soviets involved in the film I'd expect a sampling of their national theme. Especially in Agent Spalko's theme.
If a sequence in the film involves Indy visiting his father's grave then I'd expect a bit of music sampling from TLC.
Other music might include elaborations on the music associated with the opening sequence to ROTLA. You know the sequence with the little golden 'New World' idol.
Yet another bit of music will revolve around the main McGuffin of the new film - the cyrstal skull, the alien skeleton seated in an elaborate throne and Indy's fight with the minion army of the 'Martian' king.
Oh almost forgot - Mutt's theme. Music befitting the son of Indy. My guess is shades of 50s style rock music will be sampled into Mutt's theme. After all the kid's a motorcycle riding 50s 'greaser'.
Somebody who works at Barnes & Noble claims at JWFan.com to have seen the track listing for KotCS. No titles, just the fact that there are thirteen score tracks and five song tracks.
Wow! That's unexpected.
I hope to God that's not true. What would they be anyway?
ToD had one song track.
Update: just a prank. There are no songs (as far as we know).
You are three days late for April Fools' Day!
Only telling what I've heard.
Ahh, I see, it was someone else's prank.
I kind of guessed it was a joke when I saw the thread about it over at JWFan. And I'm glad none of us freaked out quite like a few of the loons over there.
I heard members of N'Sync have cameos in the film.
Oh that brings back the good ol' days of the spoiler forums.
Well lets not completely rule out songs in this film. After all, we're in the late 50's and early rock and roll music is starting to hit the scene. Mutt looks like he's a cool kid who would listen to the music of the times. It's entirely possible they might have songs playing out of a car radio or something like that.....
Album cover. Expected, but nice.
Now the only question that remains is when will it leak?
ROTS leaked about 1-2 weeks before it's official release, correct?
Track titles (not as many spoilers as I expected):
01. Raiders March
02. Call of the Crystal
03. The Adventures of Mutt
04. Irina's Theme
05. The Snake Pit
06. The Spell of the Skull
07. A Whirl Through Academe
08. The Journey to Akator
10. The Jungle Chase
11. Orellana's Cradle
12. Grave Robbers
13. Hidden Treasure and the City of Gold
14. Secret Doors and Scorpions
15. Oxley's Dilemma
17. Temple Ruins and the Secret Revealed
18. The Departure
And NO songs, thank god.
EDIT: I got these from JWFan and Amazon, btw.
Yay! More snakes!
I hope this doesn't mean we're getting another PT-style hack-job of the score in the final film.
I hope it at least means they are trying to avoid tracking any cues.
The recording of the score wrapped up in early March out in LA. Is there going to be another brief recording session?
I see the soundtrack release date is set for May 20.
From John Takis of JWFan.com:
"In a nutshell, he said they just finished editing the recorded tracks to picture yesterday, and they're going to give it one more pass for minor tweaking and polishing before they send it out on Tuesday. AFAIK, this is a phase of production that Williams *usually* isn't that involved in -- but it's easy to see where that could be different on a Spielberg/Lucas project."
In case anyone has yet to pre-order, Amazon.com has the soundtrack up for $9.99!
First review of KOTCS. No sound clips from the actual score, but some members of JWFan have made short midi clips of Irina's theme and the Call of the Crystal.
Sounds very promising.
Also, is it just me or does it sound like a new recording of the Raiders March in the new TV Spot?
