As I started playing, just now, I immediately had to fend off another attempt.

And then, once I survived that, a third. At which point I started taking screenshots.

It has been an interesting campaign.

Mad Men is fantastic. Great writing, great acting, good social commentary.

    I refuse to watch BBT.

instantdeath - IMO, The Wire is a must see. One of the best shows to ever grace a television screen. The writing is spectacular.

Where would one get hold of this game, these days?

Steam and Amazon, mainly. It goes on sale all the time- Amazon had a sale yesterday where the entire CKII collection (DLC and all!) was on sale for all of 10 dollars. It's a fantastic game, and an ungodly time-sink.

Sure sounds that way, especially after people mentioned the ASOAIF mod.

Yeah- some people don't enjoy the ASOIAF mod, as it still requires a bit of polish and the mod team really needs to focus on one scenario and fully flesh it out (rather than jumping all over the timeline), but at least for me the novelty hasn't worn off yet.

Are you kidding? They just revealed quantum mechanics will be featured prominently in the game. SOLD.

Also, as some of the early gameplay footage has indicated, there's a cool little Star Wars easter egg...

So far, the 2013 game I'm most looking forward to is Beyond Two Souls. Choice driven games complete me.

I don't know if I'm too excited for Game of Thrones' Season 2 right now (just five more days!) but everything keeps reminding me about it:

Lugija - have you watched the first episode of Season 2 yet? I love to follow people's experiences watching the show; the ups and the downs.

Uli -- Luckily whatever happened to me was fairly mild -- it was more of a "this is strange, what exactly is going on?" than something acute. I just sat down and tried to breathe as deeply and slowly as possible through class. It was helpful that I knew if anything happened, I was in a room full of people.

I guess the key thing was recognizing what it was and staying calm. I tend to be good with the latter, so it ended up being just fine.

No, 8 hours to go. I'll watch only the first episode and DVR the rest of the marathon. I watched LOST with at least a day between episodes and bigger breaks between seasons (and the boring parts of Seasons 2 and 3), and that was when I had the whole series in my shelf. I can do this, I won't watch them. I'll just wave my "Renly is right!"-flag and speculate wildly in my head.

EDIT: 7 hours. And the Death Star project is growing: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/461687407/kickstarter-open-source-death-star
Good thing this is clearly said to be a joke. Wasn't there a guy a few years back who wanted to make an AT-AT and started to gather money until LF stopped it?

Aaanndd... here goes. For the next 50 minutes I'm in Westeros. Except for those 10 or so minutes I'm on Essos. Or outer space. I don't really know yet.

Anyone watching House of Cards on Netflix? Not the original British version (which I will watch next), but the US version with Kevin Spacey. It is an EXCELLENT show and I love the machinations and plots of the main characters. Go watch it!

Netflix is selling it hard enough - and I love Kevin Spacey. Aren't all the first season episodes available now? That's a selling point as well.

Yup, all 10 or 12 episodes are available. I have watched the first four so far and I am addicted.

Is the American version already out? I'd heard they were making one, but hadn't realized it was on now. I'm quite fond of the British version, not sure if they can replicate its finer elements.
