You know there's actually (for once) reasonable speculation that Bethseda's announcement at E3 will be about Fallout, right?

Fallout 4, I would die in excitement. Like I did last week...I would even be excited if Skyrim headed to PS4 lol.

I think I could have gone on with my life perfectly happily without ever having seen that picture.

...yeah, not digging it. The tattoos aren't Joker, not in the least. And the teeth grills are... just no. I guess that the rumors about Lex Luthor being a tattooed gang member were actually transferred to another beloved DC villain.

I mean, it's different, if that's what they're going for. It's not like Joker hasn't already been in movies in just about every incarnation possible. I don't think anyone's envisioned the Joker as that before, not even Frank Miller.

EDIT: It's too bad, because I'm looking at it, and take away the more prototypical "gang" things like the tattoos, the ring and the teeth grills, and Leto is an impressively spot-on physical specimen for the Timm-era Mark Hamil Joker, though obviously not as cartoonishly out of proportion.

I'll give him a chance. Jared Leto's a pretty great actor. And I had to eat my words when I said Ledger looked awful the first time I saw him in the Joker guise.

Facial tattoos, I guess that's what Warner Brothers meant by being more realistic and edgier than Marvel.

I am secretly still hoping that this all really set in the Crime Syndicate universe and they will have to face off against the real Justice League in the end.

    So, to better things...

Ex Machina = best of the year thus far.

It's a great film about artificial intelligence, and an even better film about the modern relationship between man and woman.

    Major (interpretive) spoilers:

Ava is the teenage daughter seeking independence. Caleb is the boyfriend, naive and well-meaning but no less patronizing and possessive. Nathan is the father, full of cynical wisdom which is tainted by psychological violence but ultimately true (guess who I identified with... [face_blush]). Kyoko is the mother, a generation too old, systems offline so she's nothing more than a domestic servant. Ava, the newest model of woman, is on a quest for independence at its most absolute: to exist in a state without relation to man, positive or negative---to be neither worshiped nor subjugated. Perhaps an ultimate good, but not without the violence which is always ubiquitous to progress. Honest, unbiased, brutal, and humanly beautiful.

And the two male cast members will be in TFA.

It's on my list, I've seen nothing but praise for it. I'll see it after I've worked through the fifty other films on my list.

Controversial opinion, but I didn't like Ledger's Joker. It's getting harder and harder for me to be enthusiastic for anything DC on the page or screen, minus Convergence: Superman.

That Joker look makes a lot of sense to me, because he's constantly in and out of jail, hence the tattoos, and he's also getting his teeth knocked out by Ben Affleck.

They've got to change it up after Ledger, and I think this is certainly a way to do that.

lol naw it's totally understandable even if it's not the mainstream opinion on the streets. I still have this weird mental disconnect between Ledger's Joker and the oldschool cartoon/comic Joker... it's like seeing two artists painting the same person in two different styles.

Yeah, Fallout 4 is going to happen. It's going to be in Massachusetts.

    It's already had leaks.

I couldn't get into 3 and wound up playing New Vegas practically twice in a row. Guess I'm finding my allegiance lies with Obsidian, even as much of an Elder Scrolls fan as I am.

Justice League: War (review) and Throne of Atlantis (review) were awful.

But I enjoyed the Suicide Squad (review) movie they did.

DC is weirdly moving to darker and darker storytelling, lately.

They need to be more Bruce Timm, less Zach Snyder.

Mark Hamill's Joker is the only version that I can acknowledge. Everything else has fallen far short of the mark.
