Because you are here, where I ask and maybe know? Since I don't know and don't really hang out on other places where people could know

Ulicus So I tried Witcher 3 compatibility thing for my PC and it said it couldn't run it, so I picked it up for PS4. Finished the White Orchard area/prologue last night.

I'm trying to develop a taste for Bloodborne/Souls games. They seem so familiar to me, but I can't really place where from. Tobal or Ehrgeiz quest mode? iunno.

I hope you enjoy Geralt's unrelenting snark as much as I did and do. And all the rest, of course.

I've only played the Dark Souls games (no Demon's or Bloodborne for me) but Miyazaki (not that one) was pretty heavily inspired by Beserk... so perhaps that's why?

I dunno. I can't think of many other games quite like them. Except perhaps the King's Field series, to which they are all spiritual successors. Square's Vagrant Story had some similiarities too, I think.

Though I've only ever played DaS I and II, since I've not owned a Sony console since the PS2 days.

Do anybody know how hard it was to get tobacco products and liquor (especially rum) in Nazi occupied France? It is for an RPG adventure

I'd say the safe bet is that it was VERY hard.

Tobacco shortages were common, and wine rationed. Existing bars were permitted to remain open (though many were closed for other reasons - and all were strictly regulated), but no new establishments serving alcohol could be opened. There was heavy drinking going on among the occupation's troops, though, so it's not like alcohol was ever in short supply.

Stricter laws were enacted, of course, the later in the war you get, and policies weren't necessarily employed with the same degree of zeal everywhere.

Should be rather hard considering how it was not only occupied and had most of its goods and production seized, it was also blockaded along with the rest of Nazi territory and the government was already forced to ration basic things, whilst people had to often make do with makeshift substitutes for basic things - like wood soles for shoes because there was no leather. Though there was a black market, where tobacco products where actually among the currency used.

I suppose the big question would be whether one is trying to obtain it legally or not: there was certainly a thriving black market among the occupying forces, and many winemakers were forced to sell their products at minimal prices to German soldiers (some apparently even buried their wines to hide them, and dug them up after the war to celebrate) - those that didn't have their vineyards appropriated to export alcohol for the German elite, that is.

I suppose it is a more likely excuse than his being a time traveler stranded in WWII France and desperate to get drunk.

I refuse to accept anything else.

It would explain his inability to use Google.

It is a Promethean: The Created game in the new World of Darkness, set in WWII France.

I am playing a houngan (voodoo priest), or rather a former houngan turned Promethean who kept the faith, and he would like to have tobacco an liquor for his rituals.
