Ok, gonna sound stupid here for a min, but what is an ICQ?

because ICQ sucks

 

ICQ is the daddy of them all. It is the program that birthed all the rest. When the internet finally hit big in homes, this was the program to get, so you could talk to people in (delayed) real time.

The reason it sucks now is because you can't use it like AIM. You have to send a message. Wait. Get a Message, Wait. It's a little more difficult than AIM, in my opinion. I don' think it sucks, but I don't think it's the best either.
