Sounds like a plan...
we can also go into May...
though my May is already getting crowded
How's about May 3rd? The next weekend after that is ACEN (Anime Central) and the weekend before is the Fashion Show at the School of the Art Institute (in which Emma is one of the dressers). We can project this deeper into May, which might actually preclude the possibility of snow, too, but let's see what others say.
but seriously, will look into this and get back with you when I know more
Lily_Wan is hosting a Star Wars Miniatures event at her new place on May 3 which I'm attending.
I posted the information at the MWG and the MWB this morning..
How's May 3rd looking?
We have a couple - the same two that wanted to come last time..
I say we go for it...
fix the two problems that Ed and Cherri have on their costume (which sounds fairly easy)...
go to SAKS...
then do lunch..
I can make Sunday May 3
but must leave by 2-pm for work
I would like to encourage other CF Star Wars fans to visit
even if not working on a costume.
I always find it fun to visit, and to share this kind of opportunity
kinda like those times I visit the book club and have not read the book
so, if you are interested in costuming, or props, or SW stuff in general,
why not visit......it's free....
really, I just visit, having very few creative building skills at all
.........I am like the Ferengi, just good at aqusition
ps, might have a present for Schph_Gochi as well
Well....at least we are starting at noon Ed...
We have 2 definite - Ed and Cherri Krzyzowski...
two tentative (depending on their jobs)
Kathy Van B and
I can't wait to show you guys my fleet of tanks (it's up to 2 now). I am very exciting and looking forward to seeing some of the old crowd.
Due to un-for-seen-ed circumstances, I can no longer stay until 2-pm
I can stay later
so for now I am good until 3-pm and who knows what else
cool beans Ed..
and Cheryl is coming too...
with her Biker Scout...
Ed...something for you to ponder for Cheryl's Biker Scout..
her issue is the blaster not staying in the holster on the boot..
the whole boot holster is a good idea if you are on a "Bike"...
but not so hot walking around...the blaster wants to fall out..
she is using a bit of velcro now...but not happy with how secure it is...
I was thinking in terms of a covertec clip thingy....
Believe it or not, I have been looking into this problem, along with the endless other problems
that have plagued me in my pursuit of a Biker Scout.
Every idea I come up with requires bending down to access the ankle holster,
and while wearing gloves and a helmet, attaching or detaching something
that will hold the little hand held blaster securely in place.
There seems to be no elegant solutions to this.
My latest thoughts are to use some kind of "spandex" loop that would attach
to the inside bottom of the holster that could be easily pulled up and over
the blaster handle. Choice of color is yours, I would choose black.
I got the idea while thinking of how strechy a head band / sweat band is.
So, some kind of cloth rubber band.
In my immediate world, my problems always revolve around glue.
as you will see
Well, we'll be here, and today (Sat., May 2) we'll be getting the place ready for all of you.
May the Force drive you-all this-away.
"Who is the greater fool? The fool, or those who follow him?"
Thank you Lionel!
We had a GREAT time!
And.....love those tanks!
We didn't get a heck of a lot of costuming done...but a little...lol..
GREAT food too...what was the name of that restaurant we went to?
maybe we could do it again in July maybe?
Much thanks to Lionel and Emma for hosting this event
Amoung the many things accomplished were,
Some actually building.
Past and future event discussions.
and getting better accquainted and renewing friendships.
and also off-topic stuff, like some kind of need to take
action concerning city parking meters
Otherwise, as you can see there was just a lot of fun with people and costumes,
And even tho one of our activities was not open I-SACHS
(missed it by 5-minutes, or they close at 2-pm)
It is still a GREAT place to look for Leather and Leather accessories like buckles, snaps, etc.
Here are some photo-s I took through their windows, but it is the second floor with
that has a most amazing selection of raw leather.
and, sure......we had fun with Lionel and his tanks!
but then, as sometimes happens,
Some of us, may have had more fun than others.
Thanks for the photos...
I didn't seem to get too many of them this time...
I did post a "mission event" here with what I had:
