    If Luke is gay it will make a strong metaphor out of his conflict with his father. His struggle with Vader could be interpreted metaphorically as a homophobic macho father trying to get his gay son to conform to a straight lifestyle but the son resists him and ultimately the father learns to accept his son for who he is.
