So I have only just discovered this, and I found it very interesting and slightly amusing as well [face_laugh] . Here is a GIF of Darth Vader failing to throw The Emperor into the reactor in one of the takes of ROTJ. Enjoy:

Interestingly, he's actually got hair!

If only The Emperor actually survived! :_|

Haha it really is! I found Ian Mcdiarmid's twitter account as well. It's hilarious since he and David Prowse are still very good friend and they message each other Star Wars quotes such as "what is thy bidding, my master". I find it so funny. [face_laugh]

Almost completely off topic but still amusing! :)

That's priceless. I didn't know McDiarmid had a Twitter. Gosh, I hate Twitter, though.

What I find interesting is that it appears to be Irvin Kirshner who runs to catch Ian. I like that.

This is very amusing especially after you see Ian smiling near the end.

Watching the scene brought my attention to one tiny detail: Would Vader not have needed both of his hands and fingers to lift the Emperor? ;)

If stump is jammed into the Emperor's ribs good and hard, it may act as a "pincer" with Vader's other hand on the other side of the Emperor, providing enough grip to support the Emperor's weight.
