Oh cool! Can you bring your Mandalore helmet? I am thinking of bringing my stormtrooper helmet and lightsaber... think that will clue people in to the fact that our table is the Star Wars meeting?

 

Brian... doesn't the -7603 part of his username give you a clue to his identity? You really need to get out of those yuppy clothes and into comfy flannel so you can think straight.

 

no - i wanna see brian in yuppie clothes. his comfy clothes tend to look too much like something jabba would have one of his female dancers wear.

Geesh, you guys are still at it!

Had fun tonight, although I agree a separate room would have worked better for the "meeting" part.

Sounds like May is going to be a busy month.

 

Don't worry... NO MORE MEETINGS AT RESTAURANTS EVER AGAIN! We've grown too big for that... which is a good thing really.

 

I signed up to go, but due to events not of my making, I missed the meeting Can someone give me a quick summary of what I missed?

Hi Tal... we had 20 people show up for the meeting. Unfortunately BJs was not the best place to hold a meeting, and we will not be holding a meeting in any restaurant again as we have grown too large for that. Basically we all chatted and had a good time.

- Mike Davis was made an officer of our club, he is our new "Meeting and Events Coordinator."

-We discussed having the Contempo Design building be our permanent meeting place from now on. Their room will seat 50-60 comfortably.

-We discussed the club being sponsored by a comic store chain and possibly working an event for them on May 3rd in their new store at North County Fair. Several well known comic writers/artists will be there.

- We discussed doing an event for a Sci-Fi Pizza place in Oceanside... the date is to be announced.

- We discussed doing a charity event for Children's hospital on May 17 in the morning.

- We discussed the SDSWS anniversary party which will also be on May 17th, but in the afternoon and evening.

- We discussed the lightsaber training being held at Mike Davis' home.

- The next meeting we will focus on discussing Comic Con and our plans for comic con. The meeting will take place within two weeks.

 

those at the other end of the table talked a lot about tv shows (Buffy, Enterprise, etc.), video games, and the joys of french fries in the shape of happy faces.

 

^ They have those happy face french fries at Disney's California Adventure.. in that restaurant next to "California Soaring Adventure."

I really wish we could have stayed longer and talked to ya'll more but the restaurant wasn't very conductive to it and little one here was kept up past his bedtime already just to be there as long as we were. He's a fun little monkey this morning already because of it.
I definately like the idea of Contempo Design being the permanent meeting place, I'm so thankful Mike's boss is so nice!
