    (personally I wanted to see Big Hero 6 instead but I got out-voted by *EVERYBODY* so Interstellar it is!)

    (also I've already seen Big Hero 6. AMAZING MOVIE!!!)

    Apparently Kip Thorne (astrophysicist consultant on the film; the robot KIPP was named after him) and the VFX team at Double Negative discovered some new things about black holes while making the movie.

    At about 2:30 in the video, you can see how the black hole really should be shown, but because of the camera angle Nolan used, it all looked like one contiguous accretion disc. So he did play with the visual representation a bit and that's why it looked off to me. So there. :p
