I'm sorry to say, ladies, that I DO know about Rainbow Brite, and my remark was actually meant to be a disparaging comment about same. Yuck! Sappy stuff. I hate all that sweetness. I also disliked the Smurfs (and much to my dismay, I was often referred to as "Smurfy" or "Smurf" due to being S-tephanie Murphy (maiden name)), and Barney, and Romper Room.

Did someone say something about toy tractors and trucks?
Some of my favorite toys were
a)my die cast replica John Deere tractors - which I would have kept if I'd known how expensive they'd be when I grew up
b)my Tonka trucks of different varieties; speaking of which, I believe they make them out of plastic these days? whassup with that? why - in my day - no, I did not have to walk to school uphill both ways through 5 feet of snow - but Tonka trucks were made from some pretty durn thick metal. If you couldn't give someone a concussion with it, it wasn't Tonka!

 

Yeah, it was cheesy, but when it's the stuff you grew up with... it's nostalgic.

Yeah...

Bobafemme...Bria and I have both resigned...and it's amazing! Popscicles have never tasted so good! Toys are fun again, and I've developed my Lego addiction all over again!

Critics are clods. What were they thinking...or maybe...what were we thinking? I remember some of the films I used to watch, and well, they were better then instead of now...However, others are classics, like The Goonies and The NeverEnding Story.

After looking through this thread...I remember all the different kinds of slime they had on the market when we were kids. Ectoplasm, Ooze, Nickolodien Green Slime. There may have been a couple more, I'm not sure. Now there's Gooze, which honestly looks like the equivilent of someone blowing thier nose into tupperware for an hour.
