Syra, NY Invite to Empire Fan Fest

Greetings everyone

I would like to invite you all down to The Empire Fan Fest Convention being held on April 17th & 18th in Secaucus NJ. During the con we will be having a gathering of all the local (and not so local) Fan Groups.

The guest of honor will be Mark Hamill.
Please note however that Mr. Hamill WILL NOT BE SIGNING AUTOGRAPHS.

yeah, this one is going to be like trying to push a brick wall over!!!...sadly unless i come up with good resioning for me going...im grounded..i already ask my mom and dad if i could go and at first they sead um when is it mike im like the weekend...and they responded ok and you whant to go why...i sead, Mark Hamill is going to be their and they did see that as being good anough resioning....and my dad suggested i gust become a trecki fan(Major insult if you ask me) and stop asking to go such far distancs from home, that and they made it qite clear im 13...but i have a plan if they contiue to say no, i will gust ask them why they let me go to Ny,Ny alone with some friends (i got hit by a car on this trip)and they still let me go agean, the only condition was i had to have a cell phone on me at all times... i have also made over 20 trips in to caniada 7 with a school group the rest with scouts(my dad is the scout master) but even so i still walked around the town we were in by my self , that and they have let me climb 14 Mt. in the high pecks so why is NJ so differnt i bet its much safer then most of the trips i have bin on.

So now you see the problem, that and i dont know how meany of you are going so i dont think i will really try to push my parents decision unless most of you are going to the fest...

So sorry, but i think i might be siting this one out too.

 

I'm helping out at the con, so I'll be there.

 

I have booked it off work.

 

I get a feeling I'll have to sit this one out. Drogon has the final say on that sort of thing... or, more accurately, his wife (my mom).

You'd be hanging out with a bunch of adults that your family has no clue of who we are. She breifly met us. No one else, that I'm aware of. They know your freinds, they trust them.


Trust me on this. If it was me who wanted to go to something like this, they'd say no. Lucky it's trhee of us, but I doubt I'll be able to go.

does anyone know of a good place to stay near the venue?

 

I'm actually contemplating staying at the venue. It didn't look too expensive (if memory serves) so I may do that.

Part of the reason I want to stay there is because I may have to do at least one costume change during the day and it may be a hassle if I'm too far away.

 

depending on how many of us all go to the Con you may want to hook up with some of the other members to share a room to cut costs........

 

Sharing a room is a good idea... (and a cheaper one! Hooray cheaper!)

 

I thought I'd post this here first since I know some of you are heading out to EFF.

Ryan and I booked a hotel room at the convention hotel and the people that were planning on rooming with us just backed out. So we have room for a couple people if you want to split the cost with us.

It's a non-smoking room with two full size beds (tv, hair dryer, etc).

If anyone is interested, drop me a line and I can let you know prices and the rest of the details.
