about 2 months ago I got to know that to Poland will arrive ones of "Lord's of the dance" troup. I started to listening Irish folk music and I must say that I fall in love with it. Tell me please is this kind of music popular in your country.

is Lord of the Dance popular?
only with 50-year-old menopausal women, I'm afraid....
irish folk music is a broad church however, and if Michael Flatley is at one end, riverdancing away like an munki, shane mcgowan is at the other, finding god in the gutter outside the pub...

so, to summarise, go out and immediately buy
"Rum, Sodomy and the Lash" by the Pogues, or your soul will be forfeit......

I always though 'Lord of the Dance' was evil - I mean really, they're legs move, but their bodies are static.

Anyways, Shane McGowan is extremely talented, and has a great voice. Pity he's got a face like a bulldog licking piss off of a nettle.

As the great Greg Proops explained Lord of the Dance:
"I can't move my head, I can't move my arms, but from the waist down I'm a rockin bag of Gaelic sex."

Personally I don't mind the shirtless buff men in kilts dancing, but that's just me ;) In the US it's either very popular or a big joke, depending on who you talk to. I've never been to a show so I can't tell you how I feel about it. I usually see the more "traditional" dancing at affairs that don't cost me $50 and upwards a show.

Danky, I love you dearly, but beer gut does not equate to buff. It's a good thing I'm not entirely found of buff guys. I prefer tall skinny pasty guys.

I have a feeling I'll be right at home in Edinburgh.

    I'm 6ft 2" with barely a scrap of flesh on me !
If I wanted a beergut, I'd need to get a silicon implant in my stomach........

When I listen to The Pogues, my friends just say something along the lines of "What on EARTH is that?!" What is wrong with Americans, anyway? They've no sense of music :(
