Is Anyone else devastated by the end of the JA series?

I thought they were great while they lasted...really fleshed out the Qui/Obi relationship, but they have been steadily going downhill for awhile.

 

At twenty books, Jedi Apprentice will be the longest Star Wars juvenile series to date, and cover about the first four years of Obi-Wan's apprenticeship. I think the series does an excellent job, but I also believe it is time to move on.

The story of Anakin's apprenticeship will be interesting to me. He's still the most interesting character in the Star Wars pantheon. I'm looking forward to the Jedi Quest series.

 

Yes....I guess I still wish they could just keep them both.....oh well

I enjoyed the books, but I can easily live without them. The quality has been declining, anyway.

Just to be picky, the SW Missions series also had twenty books.

stopping the series was dumb i thought at first but then i too think that J.watson was losing ideas. the reason i think it's dumb to end them was because i really, really, REALLY don't like Anakin skywalker(sorry if ya do though)it's just not as intresting as Kenobi and Jinn.

The best part in my opinion is how they are going to work in both flashbacks from Obi-wan's days as an apprentice to Qui-gon and also work in some of the JA charaters.

I don't mind ep.2 Anakin, but Jake Llyod just bothered me...(see. yipeeeee!)

 

I was very sad to hear that it is ending, but it has to end some time.
I just read book 15.
I don't think Anakin is as interesting as Obi-Wan. Oh, well. I will survive...

one thing that anoys me is that i have to wait forever to read the books because where i live it takes forever for them to get the series over here.now that there ending the series that anoys ME MORE.

They act like ditzes on purpose, I know they can't be that bad at Star Wars knowledge >.< One said: "Oooh, he becomes that big, strong Vader guy! A hot evil dude! I can't wait for the next movie! Episode 7, was it?" I was like "................ [face_shocked] ................."

I'm kinda disappointed JA's ending but I am looking forward to the flashbacks etc... to JA in JQ. I did start reading the first book of JQ but I didn't buy it because it's so expensive.

I suppose I am looking forward to seeing how Obi-Wan and Anakin get on with each other but I just don't want to read a series that focuses entirely on Anakin. I'd like to see Obi-Wan do something.

I found with the JA series that after book 8 the storylines began to focus more on Qui-Gon...especially JA14 and 15 (haven't read 16 yet so shhh!) IMO Obi-Wan is a highly underused character in official books. He may be in a lot of books but he seems to be shoved to the sidelines a lot.

But even if the official books are ending, we've always got fan fiction!

 

Yes I agree....poor Obi never gets the attention he deserves!! hehe

But you're right.....that IS the great thing about fan fics...we can get all the Obi we want!

Yes, they did. It was posted on TFN books a while back. It was really just "we don't feel like we're losing an Apprentice, we feel like we're gaining a Quest."

I wouldn't go into something, especially Star Wars expecting to dislike it.
