Surely the title of this thread is merely a rhetorical question.

He is simply the God McDiarmid. Accept no substitutes.

    His greatness has no limits.

If Ian McDiarmid were asked, he could perform the character of Spongebob Squarepants and raise it to the level of Shakespearean Art. There are no restraints on the magnificent Talent of the God Ian.

NO: IAN is a Mere Mortal

    Ian is a [face_clown]

Liam Neeson, however, is THE God. His talent quite literally dwarfs the one of your pathetic idol.

This kind of question should never be asked again because there's only one possible answer, one you all refuse to see: your god is an illusion.

OH no, the FIGS now come in force!

:) I like McDiarmid alot, but I think if he's struck by a falling stage light, he'll get hurt as best the rest of us. Though not a god, he is certainly a lord of the acting domain, that's for sure.

Any accusation of mere mortality that is directed at Ian is not only offensive, but inexcusable in the extreme. Appalling, even.

    I mean, really.

The concepts of Ian and God are a tautology - redundant and self-apparent.

Not to get scriptural or anything, but The God himself has confirmed His divinity in Starlog Magazine.

"...I had been masquerading all these years. This flesh and blood that you see before you was not the real thing..."

No. The question means he is truly God. Literally. If you had asked if he is figuratively God on Earth, I would have voted yes. As the question stands, I voted his having divine gifts.

That is a Mistake Many have Made in the Past, Vespa... After ROTS their will be no more Denying that the Abillities and Powers of MCDIARMID you see are not Mere Gifts of the Divine... but the DIVINE PRESSENCE itself.

Alec Guinness has become more powerful than either Lee or McDiarmid.

I don't know about that. But, if I were to see him walk on water in a movie, I would believe it if someone told me it was not special effects.

Have you ever seen the black slugs around the Emperors Eyes in ROTJ? Those are not Special effect, nor Mere Sharpie Pen Marks... Nay IAN HIMSELF Willed those into existense much to the shock of Lucas and the Cinematographer who first noticed them during the screening of the Dalies.

IAN'S Purpose for them Remains Inscrutible... as the WILL OF GOD Should.

    I refuse...

He is good but if here were GOD(figuaratively speaking),
don't you think you'd see him around a bit more? film wise, etc?

Ian is GOOD but GOOD aint GOD or GREAT
