Is incest an acceptable discussion topic?

Reading through some recent discussion in the Senate on homosexuality, and same-sex relationships, I was shocked to read a thread in Comms which said that you couldn't really talk about same-sex relationships in Star Wars fan fics etc.

Now, I'm not trying to get into that debate here, but mine is of a similar taboo. I'm interested to know if a discussion on incest, and incestious relationships would be permitted in the Senate. (With the clear understanding that nothing explict or illegal (underage) was to be discussed.

As long as it's an academic discussion, I don't see it being a problem.

However, you probably should talk to KnightWriter, as he's one of the Senate mods, and he probably can explain the boundaries better than I can.

While I don't recall this having come up in awhile (if ever), I believe discussion of the effects of incest, or a discussion of it from a psychological point of view would be acceptable.

I hope this is a serious request, and part of me wonders why it wasn't just asked of either Red or myself via PM (not that Communications isn't a place to get answers to questions, because it is).

 

Not that I moderate the Senate, but my gut reaction to your thread title would be "No."

It was only after I thought about it for a second that I considered an extremely limited context in which it might be accepted - which was essentially covered by KW.
