does Phoenix seem to be having tons more fun than we are?
In what particular way, JO?
just cruising through their threads, they get together and RPG and play games and all that fun stuff. They just strive to have fun. I'm not saying we're dull, but you know?
I just think it's a case of them not having as much on their plates as we do right now.....I think that after AOTC, you're going to see us doing a lot more gaming, and fanflic'n, and normal groupy stuff.....course, the group may not agree with me...LOL!
Well, we should be at that point by the time the AOTC push dies down a little. I don't have time for anything else until I get back from Indy and finish off the semester. we have a lot of people going to Indy (15 is the current count) and that makes things hard right now. Those of us going have maxed out on time off and I know I have been putting in extra hours to make my return a little easier.
June 1st starts the new face of the RMFF, I promise (at least for me). Why don't we plan to have a Casino Malastare meeting at my place sometime after the 15th (when I have money again). You can teach us all the new CCG.
but what are our full plates? Dressing up to stand around at the Kempe event? They're doing costumes and lining up and all of that too just like we have been doing. I dunno. It seems like everyone's so work focused here and not interested in play
I for one, and DH, and Sith CHick, and Jedi Dragon, did not have costumes ready, so we've all spent booku time on them....but you're right...it is work, and I'll be glad when I can enjoy the fruits of my labour....as to gaming, I'm def up for at least one RPG per week, and I would love to just get together for BBQ's and such, once they lift our fire ban...LOLOLOL!!!!
RPGs & BBQs sound good to me!- i tried invasion of theed once & i kind of liked it but the other players couldnt wait to be done-it didnt make for a fun game-hopefully with you guys itll be different- Im assuming your not talking about playing RPGs online
Well, as soon as I have some disposable income again, I can get the new RPG stuff and put together a CCG Deck & buy JKII:JO (I have got to get that game). I'll be travelling a lot this summer but I can work around that easily enough, especially w/ flex-time.
JO: because of you, I bought a starter of the new card game, so if you teach me how to play it at D&B, I'll see what I can do about tripping it up to Denver every so often to do some gaming.
Yeah, it's fun. I actually met up with someone to play it and i went to his apt to play a few games. It's easy and very fun
groovy. do I need to buy some more packs, or is the starter set good enough for now?
We've had meetings every other weekend for two months, plus the toy buying outing, we talk everyday and post more than any other fanforce. How more active can we get? We have two major events planned for Premiere week and we totally have our acts together for them.
Don't forget, we each have the things we're into that's why we have the SIGs, you're the game guy, so it makes sense that if we're not gaming it doesn't seem that busy for you. You and I are not doing costumes so it's hard to see how much time that's taking for people. I know I spend several hours every day on the website, flyers, custom jcboard, icon etc.
I looked at the Phoenix board, and I don't know what you see that I don't, they are totally focused 100% on one event, the lineup for the midnight show, and what they have put together has an amazing amount of organization.
I think we are a totally kick-ass FanForce who do quite a lot and have a lot of fun as a group.
get a handful of boosters. They're pretty cheap. you need a 60 card deck. The 2 players are only 30 cards for each side. You won't have to spend a whole bunch. Maybe 20 dollars on the boosters and you'll have every card you ever need, and plus you'll have trade fodder
Just make sure you buy them at my store!
I'm going to start hosting tournaments and casual games for the new CCG at my store pretty soon, and I'm trying to think of something to do to support the RPG as well. Any ideas are welcome.
JO and I will be teaching people the CCG at the Dave & Busters event (right JO?), and I'm going to try to run a demo of the RPG as well. Anyone who's intersted in Star Wars gaming should stop by my table at D&B and let me know what you're interested in doing.
Right you are, my friend. I playtested it officially yesterday and all I have to say is...IT ROCKS lol It's nothing like any previous games besides maybe Young Jedi. The game is almost like LOTR in the battle element. and The rolling of the dice is annoying at first but it really makes it more fun. For example, my Jango Fett was under attack from Nathan's Shaak Ti. I had only 1 health left and Shaak Ti has 3 power, so she gets to roll 3 dice. None of them were hits and Jango lived to fight another day! lol I loved it. It's really cool. I'm definitely gonna get more from your store. I like this game Decipher players are going to hate this game but to hell with them all. Their "beloved" ccg game. This is the new game, whether they like it or not
(although i LOVE the decipher CCG one, this one is easy for everyone to pick up. Which is AWESOME which means more players)
I agree. The game is very easy to learn, and (contrary to most CCGs) I honestly don't think you need to spend very much money on it to enjoy playing it. As as for spoilers on the cards, there were more spoilers in the trailer I saw at the movies Sunday night than there are in the CCG.
How's that for a sales pitch, folks?
I think it's GREAT! lol except there is a major spoiler on one of the cards but it's been seen here already I think... lol All in all, if you don't read the "LORE", you should be 100% fine from spoilers.
CW: sorry bro, but I'm not driving up to denver just to buy some tcg boosters
yea but you need someone to play with and Jefferson's store is where we'll beeeee!!! besides he'll be sellin em at the D&B thing
