You're 100% right. Antifa is a joke. Most people that brag about being tough or badasses are just cowards and idiots. I used to do a lot of martial arts and boxing and have met some real badasses, believe me, the real ones don't have to convince you that they are.

Anyway, I know this is going to be an unpopular opinion but it is NOT ok to punch fascists in their faces. Punching these idiots validates their victimhood narrative. The ideology of the so-called "alt-right" (I hate that term, just call them fascists) is rooted in the delusion of being persecuted people...of being victims of injustice and intolerance. Look at the religious nuts who claim Christians are being persecuted because homosexuals are allowed equal treatment under the law. This is the bat**** mentality that these people espouse and try to sell to whatever audience gives pause to listen, and when a mouthpiece for a white supremacist movement is assaulted on camera...as satisfying as that may be for a moment...it becomes a powerful validation of their victimhood complex. It says "See, look! We fascists are VICTIMS!" As soon as that happens it becomes a tool for recruitment. It cements in the minds of a few that they're going to keep their guns loaded and vote republican. These kinds of acts are extremely counter-productive.

There is a huge difference between "punch fascists" and "punch those who you think are fascists".
