    If this was the case then I would have been fired from my old job years ago. Instead, my boss all but encouraged us to take potshots at our resident man child who I had the privilege of sitting next to for several years. Guy was 26 and didn't know how to address an envelope, couldn't figure out basic interest, didn't know why I almost slapped him for taking out a $60,000 student loan for a 2 year degree which he never finished ("I needed something to live off of..." was his excuse), hadn't the foggiest idea what he spent on a down payment for his car, didn't know why I didn't speak to him for several days after he said that his mother made his car payments, and couldn't figure out that spending $700 to win $400 at the nearby Indian casino was really a loss and not a gain. The guy is now 31, just married a woman he met while playing World of Warcraft and they both live in his mom's basement.

    Go ahead and try to file a complaint against your harrasser, it might work, or you may get laughed away by HR in much the same fashion as my former co-worker on several occasions.

    I hope this goes better than your attempts to ban 'intellectual flames in comma!'

    To be fair to this guy, that is a really bizarre, unwarranted reaction on your part there. I don't know why you would stop speaking to someone for several days for that reason.

    Agreed, Boba, I'd have set the guys hair on fire. His mother would have thanked me for it.

    If you don't know, Kyle should perhaps not speak to you for several days either.

    Well, I thought the name would be a giveaway, but whatever. You'll figure it out eventually.

    If his mother has to do everything for him, including the adult things he needs to do in order to do the adult things he wants to do, then having an actual adult conversation with him would be impossible. I later found out that he didn't know how to write a check. It wasn't a case of "failure to launch" so much as it was a case of "the rocket assembly team didn't want to let the rocket leave the hangar and go to the launchpad". The next conversation I had with him was about how to write a check and actually use his checking account instead of having his parents do it for him.

    You should tell him to register an account on your Star Wars forum so that you can attempt to engage him on a more intellectual level.

    No, he said write a "check". Which, must mean 'checklist'. Kyle's colleague could write a cheque, but a checklist was apparently as beyond him as English is to our American friends.

    Payee = Recipient
    Amount = in words, then in numbers
    Signature = yours, not theirs. You ninny.

    To diagonal lines from lower left to upper right corner are taken to have the effect of stamping or writing "not negotiable" on the cheque, which means the cheque can only be cashed by the payee and cannot be used as a form of tender by them to settle other debts.

    Similarly, a cheque can be made out to cash which has the effect of allowing the payee to exchange the cheque for cash-in-hand rather than making a T+2 deposit to their account.

    Simple.

    There's a new guy at work who barely looks old enough to have graduated from uni and shuffles around in an ill-fitting suit that gives the impression of having been bought by a thrifty mother working on the assumption that he'll 'grow into it'. Thought he was one of our research interns. Turns out he's a head of department with 6 senior managers reporting to him. I may not have made the best first impression.

    I cannot abide people who buy ill fitting suits, or who can't match a tie to a shirt. They look like a child at work experience, when in reality they are imperceptibly above this.
