Let's face it most of us who have been on these boards for a long time never came here from facebook. More importantly we saw the rise of facebook and youtube as it happened. Yet as those sites changed we didn't. While we were used to following forums the next generation is following likes and facebook posts. We scream at giving up our personal info yet the next generation gives it up like its nothing. They use likes as the currency of cool while we use posts and discussions as a means of community health.

yes, some users seem to have a big issue with receiving likes.

YouTube started in 2005 and Facebook only a year earlier. It's mildly ridiculous to talk about a "generation gap" for stuff that hasn't existed a decade. Your premise that the current popularity of these services is based on some sort of unawareness of how things operated before/without them is basically impossible.

Beezer, straight up: what are you on my man? What did this to you? Which drug council needs to seek you out as evidence for their war on narcotics?

beezel26, stop posting Senate threads which are more than the kinds of soapbox rants reserved for the most remote of AM talkback radio hosts there are. Not only do you fail to meet the litmus test for even a new Senate thread (which I think is basically, have an idea, articulate it clearly, and ensure the idea can sustain multiple viewpoints) but you fail to meet the litmus test for a thread, anywhere.

So, stop. Please. I literally can't take my blood boiling every time I click on a beezel thread. I don't know if it's some form of autism or just the bi-product of too many blows to the head but these threads are just impenetrably dense and not in the James Joyce way. Arguably a mod should have stepped in already and PM'd you to say "cut that **** right out". But they haven't.

    Stop.

someone should make a poll with the question "should beezel be allowed to post [threads] on the Jedi Council Forums" with the options yes and no.

I love how someone manages to out-weird beezel by arguing against a point he never made and in no way underpins his ramblings.

...but beezel still wins the unintentional hilarity prize, beating even the ironing of the person who liked his disjointed rant against likes.

I dunno about a generational gap (what is that, isn't it like every 15 years or so?) but there is a definite incline in social media, and a divot in personal things being kept personal. Truth be told, I do not even go onto Facebook/Twitter due to being out of the loop with all of that nonsense...what is it called again, pointing and clicking? Not my thing...
