Agent Stephens
Streets

Stephens continued to hold onto Revolver tightly and laughed grimly. Then Revolver unholstered a weapon and pointed a pistol at the Agent's forehead.

Go ahead shoot. By the time you kill me, I'll be back anyways. Stephens smirked.

Then Revolver mentioned something about him possessing the knowledge and possibly the codes to Zion. A wave of stupidity came across Stephens.

He immediately thought of a plan. He could insert a tracking bug in this Rebel and wipe out his memory of the Interrogation taking place. Then throw him out where the Rebels can find him. Then we can attack the Rebels there on end. This is a subtle plan. It will work. It has to work.

Yes. You're right. Kill Shinobi? I'll be more than happy to. Stephens returned Revolver to the ground and shrugged.

Stephens saw more police units arrive. They quickly pointed their weapons and surrounded Revolver. The officer in charge asked for orders.

Escort me to the Governmental Police Facility. I am gonna...Stephens cocked his neck from side to side and popped the joints...do a little Interrogation.

Yes sir. The officer handcuffed Revolver.

Take him to my car. Stephens went back into his car, while the police officers forced Revolver to sit in the passenger side.

Then they were on the move heading toward the heavily guarded Police HQ.

Stephens glanced at Revolver then back at the road.

You will tell me what you know. You will have to or we will ,as you said, kill Shinobi. Stephens sneered.

He laughed harshly.

"That's not how it works. You see, if you kill Shinobi, you get nothing from me. Nothing."

Revolver smiled.

"If he dies, so do I, along with all your chances at getting any information."

Stephens looked at Revolver and rose an eyebrow.

No you don't know how things work here. You either tell us or you suffer. It's as simple as that. Stephens said sternly to the Rebel.

I'm afraid you have no chances of escaping. That's what matters here. Stephens teased.

Neither the Agent or the Rebel barely exchanged words for a while. Then they arrived at a tall building with the title "Government Police Facility."

Agent Stephens parked his car near the entrance and pulled Revolver out by the collar.

Agent Stephens forced the Rebel to enter an Interogation Room. He did this as quickly as possible. He immediately began asking questions.

Now you tell us! What are the codes! Tell me the information! NOW! Stephens yelled at Revolver, who was already sitting down.

Revolver

Revolver sat, and smiled.

"No."

He knew this would be painful, he knew it was a last-ditch scheme, and he knew that he was probably going to die.

And he was totally fine with that. In his mind, this was nothing more than a badly-made videogame. Stephens was like the annoying enemy you jsut couldn't beat. But Revolver didn't need to beat him, nor did he want to. He could merely....

Quit. Stop playing the game.

Interrogation

This Rebel was quite loyal to his friends. He would do almost anything to protect them. Maybe he can be swayed. Maybe he can be persuaded. Stephens sharply exhaled and walked behind Revolver and leanded down to speak into his ear.

If you won't tell us do you know what the consequences would be? Believe me you don't want to know. Stephens said in a voice so low.

I know you wish to do the right thing. Stephens stepped back and sat down across from Revolver. So tell me the codes. Because you know that we're gonna find it anyway. Tell us now. If you dont' well...Stephens pulled out a strange glass cylinder containing a rather odd device...You're gonna have to pay the price, for insubordination.

The cylinder that Stephens held in his hand was the tracking bug. Though most Rebels weren't too familar with it.

Club Hel, VIP Room

The Merovingian's inquiries were more than expected. Seraph had long mulled over these very questions before he had even stepped into the elevator to Club Hel. "I no longer work for the Oracle. I had thought you were aware of that", Seraph said in a solemn tone. "I am very much like our good friend, Cherub, now", he mused. "I have no love for you, or you 'Empire', but everyone knows there are only four ways for a program such as myself to follow... I could isolate myself, essentially becoming useless and inevitably leading to capture. I could side with the Oracle, and by extension the rebels, who may lead to the destruction of the Matrix, and by extent, me. I could side with the Matrix, which would require me to return to the source, which I have no intention of doing. And then there is you. The way I see it is that I need to side with you... Or die."

Seraph removed his distinctive sunglasses and looked the Merovingian in the eye. It was uncommon for Seraph to remove his glasses, but he wanted to underline the seriousness of his tone. "You are aware of my skills. But even those cannot counter the threat the this program may provide. Your... abilities... in reading and manipulating the Matrix. They may be useful."

Seraph grinned. The Merovingian would be peturbed at the fact that Seraph knew of his special skills. This would be at least the second time today that he would surprise his French counterpart.

Seraph stood with purpose, looking down upon the Merovingian and his wife. "You have heard my proposition. I believe that I depart shortly... You have 10 minutes to make up your mind." With that, Seraph turned and descended to the ground floor, heading for the bar...

IC: Forty-Seven, 'Brunhilda', in pursuit of anomaly.

Accelerating fast, Forty-Seven dove in and out of traffic while doing his best to avoid any collateral damage, and any of the movie cliches that the Matrix saw fit to throw up whenever there was a ground chase in progress.

This was the shopping district so..., ah yes, he could see them ahead, stepping into Brunhilda's path.

"Brace yourselves and roll up all windows!" He called to his passengers. "Two guys bearing huge pane of glass, dead ahead."

He tried to manouver around the obstacle, and his preferred Lotus would have just made it, but this school-run P.O.S. people-carrier just skidded through the pane at forty-five degrees in a showeer of crystallised glass that scattered over and scored the roof and didn't cause any injuries to anyone at all.

Gritting his teeth, Forty-Seen straightened the ungainly van and sped on; how the hell he hadn't realised the Matrix wasn't real, he had no idea. Or perhaps, it was the fact that that was all he had ever known.

"Sorry, Chore." he apologised, putting a gloved hand to the radio to switch from her music over to the police frequencies.
It was best to get as much warning as possible, if you were going to start attracting official notice.

Captain Chaos

Getting away from the forest of office buildings and residential tower blocks, the anomaly broke out over the choppy grey-blue water of the shipping lane that brought ocean-bound imports to the city.

Flying above the river, he could see the city's famous landmark, the huge suspension bridge that spanned the waterway.

Following the panicked voices in his head, he swooped down for it.

Rada (Captain), Rip (Operator)

Rip had been following the high-speed chase with some amusement. Sometimes it wasn't such a drag to be stuck back in the Real World. The whole thing had folded out like a movie- there were even the usual two glass-carrying guys. As the SUV crashed through an assortment of fruit in packing cases and scattered chickens (she was sure that wasn't right for a city- obviously the Matrix was having some difficulty finding the right cliches) the map with wish she's been tracking thew anomaly's progress bleeped. Rip checked it. A couple of neurones went 'ping!'. Her eyes widened.

Rada's phone rang shrilly. Quickly, the Russian snapped it open.

"Da?"

"The bridge." Rip's voice sounded strained. "It's heading for the bridge. I think I've worked it out though."

Rada frowned in confusion. "Explain."

"You ever see Spiderman?"

"Spider-what?" The Captain was, for once, confused.

"Spiderman. Super heroes, Captain. The poor guy thinks he's a superhero." There was a pause. "I think he's the One."

Rada sighed. It was completley crazy. Why, why ever since getting unplugged could she never go through a day without mysterious prophecies being fulfilled, huge attacks being mounted, obscure programming becoming deadly? Sometimes she longed for the mundane world of the Matrix. Whole days used to go by when no-one tried to kill her.

"Can you confirm this?" she asked, hoping that Rip couldn't.

"Rada, he's changing the Code like an Agent. Only one other program could do that."

"Alright." Rada hung up, and turned to Forty-Seven. "Get to the bridge. Quickly."

IC: Forty-Seven, 'Brunhilda', hot pursuit.

In line with the movie cliches, Chore had a panicked hen in her lap, in spite of the closed windows, and he was running the feather-clogged windscreen wipers.

Over the sound of squawking, he barely noticed the young mother pushing her navy blue baby carriage into their path, but he was ready for her, nipping safely behind her but side-swiping a solid steel fire hydrant that cast water high into the air in a man-made geyser.

The cabin shuddered as the vehicle went down onto the road from the sidewalk, and he squealed the tyres to get back onto the route, all the while listening to Captain Rada's side of the conversation:

"Da? Explain. Spider-what? Can you confirm this? Alright." Rada hung up, and turned to him. "Get to the bridge. Quickly."

Forty-Seven stood on the brakes, eliciting curses from Hondo as he slammed into the bars separating him from the back seats. "Yes, Ma'am."
Alex wrestled with the gearstick, threw Brunhilda into reverse, did a three-point turn and sped down a side street towards the river.

Mega City -- Brunhilda -- [in lukewarm pursuit]

Good news was, he had managed to open the sun roof.

Bad news, around the same time, the car crashed through a pane of gl--the frag! Who the hell carried panes of glass around any more?!

This continued, as they collided with a stack of crates he was sure he'd seen in a Jackie Chan movie...followed by the standard box of chickens.

This was the bad news part, atop the scatter fruit now crowding the back floor, and chick clucked and squawked.

"Where in the Hell are we, I thought this was Mega City not some frelling village outside of Hong Kong. For Zion's Sake..."

He rolled his window down, tossing the chicken out and onto a passing car. Sounds of crashing could be heard behind him. Oops.

That wasn't the least of their worries.

"Da? Explain. Spider-what? Can you confirm this? Alright." Rada hung up, and turned to him. "Get to the bridge. Quickly."

"Spider!? What Spider? I thought we were chasing the anomaly, not moon-lighting as exterminators!"

The Merovingian listened to Seraph's words contemptuously. Hmmm, he supposed the program's words made sense. He knew the only way Seraph would come back to him would be by force, but he wasn't sure as to how. Now with his explanation, it all made sense.

As the program left the VIP Level, the Merovingian rolled his eyes. Really now. The 10 minute ploy was sooo overdone. Like such trivial things would shake the Merovingian. But the powerful Frenchman figured he would let Seraph have his illusions of grandeur. But he would not go crawling after Seraph. No, that would give him to much. He motioned to one of his cohorts, Cain, and the man entered.

"Cain." the Merovingian said simply. "At one zecond before ten minutes past, call Seraph up bak to ze VIP Level. I vant toooo..... make em zquirm a bit, but not to looze em af course. Invorm Rook to not let em leave ze club az vell, just in case somezing comez up."

Cain nodded his head with a smile. "Yes sir." he said, then moved to exit the level.

"Oh, an Cain" the Merovingian said..... "Tell ze Twins to bring Yubari up to tak. She haz waited long enuff."

The man nodded again and went back down to the bar level, mixing in with the patrons and watching Seraph. Cain loved the bar scene, he loved Club Hel as a whole. And the Merovingian offered wonderful benefits in his service. When Cain arrived to where the Twins were, he looked at the duo.

"The Merovingian will see you know." he said, flashing a devilish smile. He went off to spread the Merovingian's orders to Rook and Pinball.

Simultaneously, the Twins stood.

"Madam Yubari, if you'll come with us." said One.

Two moved to the door, and smiled. He beckoned her to move along.

Outwardly, the Twins were unreadable. Inwardly, however, they were getting quite frustrated. Why had Yubari come here for sanctuary? It was a dangerous move, on her part. But it wasn't their job to think.

They were here to watch, and, if necessary, to kill.

Cherub
Rooftop

The program had a bird's eye view, and at the moment he could see into the large glass window where an agent and another man conversed. Perhaps conversed was too strong of a word, as the man was currently tied down. Cherub frowned, focusing the scope on his rifle. Normally he would have to rush, for the agent would eventually be privy to his location. But the experienced program had installed a coding mask around his position, making him nearly impossible to be located through code-reading. This gave him all the time in the world. At his distance the agent would be unable to see him, especially because he was lying prone.

In a white suit too, what a pity.

Obviously the man was a rebel, and it was a strange coincidence that Cherub stumbled across him. Luck for the rebel, that was sure. Cherub adjusted his aim, his crosshairs hovering over the agent's head as he pulled out a bug. That would've been quite unpleasant for the rebel, surely.

Cherub smiled slightly, and pulled the trigger.

Worst. Interrogation. Ever.

The young rebel yawned, leaning back in his chair. His captor apparently had more important business to attend to, so Shinobi was stuck waiting with his superior, who wasn't too talkative.

Interrogation

The Agent held the tracking bug in his hand until a shot echoed the mileu. The Agent remained still when blood began to leak out of a small neat hole in his forehead. His hand dropped limply to his side, the bug hitting the floor. His body fell face first onto the ground then it started to give off a green electrical light. The Agent's body was gone and was replaced with it's host: A SWAT officer.

The Matrix mainframe notified Stephens of the disturbance. This was it. They had to act now.

Agent Stephens possessed a cop in the Police Station where Shinobi was being held. He entered the Interrogation and found Riley idling. Stephens gave Shinobi a belligerent stare through his sun-glasses and pulled out the bug in his suit.

Now calm down. This won't hurt a bit. Stephens said in monotone.

This is only used for spying on the Rebels in a subtle way. Nothing else. Stephens took the bug out of the canister and activated it. Now if Shinobi was a Rebel who could control his thoughts and senses then it wouldn't be a horrifying thing for him. If he couldn't control them then it would be something even greater than horror. The Matrix plays on one's mind so it would make one think that the bug is actually a real live insect. Though in reality it isn't.

The bug began to take on its fake form and started to turn alive. Stephens held the tail and then walked towards Shinobi slowly. A high pitched squeal could be heard from the skittering bug. Stephens kept on walking until he was up face to face with Shinobi.

Shinobi
Interrogation? Please.

"You really don't know, do you?" The young rebel said with a smile.

He leaned back, hands pulling apart as hard as he could. It took hardly any effort at all for the rebel to snap the chain of the handcuffs he had been fitted with. As soon as they were separated the ninja moved. Both hands snapped quickly up, the knife edge of his left hand aimed at the bug. Hopefully he would be able to knock it from the program's grasp.

Shinobi kicked off from the floor, toppling his chair backwards and away from the table. He fell with it, using the momentum to propel himself into a small backroll. The young man came up in a crouch in a defensive stance, two fingers on each hand extended.

His eyes shot from arch agent, to agent. Taking on two at once wasn't the best option, though it seemed Shinobi had no choice.

Cherub, where are you?

Cherub
Across the way

Slinging the rifle over his shoulder, Cherub was up before the agent was down. He took a couple of steps back, and ran. Several long strides and the program reached the edge of the building, pushing off hard with his right foot. As Cherub flew he altered his surroundings as far as he was able, pushing himself through the air across a great distance.

Time seemed to slow as he approached the roof of the Government Building. It caught back up as he impacted onto the roof, dirt and concrete chips flying into the air. The program spun, sizing up this new rooftop. He decided to take a small detour and help to rescue the rebel. Shinobi could handle himself. He'd have to wait.

Interrogation

The Agent didn't say anything but by the time the Rebel got up the Agent was already acting in defense. The bug deactivated when it hit the ground which somehow turned back to its real state. Stephens eyed Shinobi and spun around for an acurate kick to his face followed by a double two hand punch to his gut.

We have to find a way to stop him. Stephens thought.

If Shinobi somehow found a way to block them both, then Stephens would use his elbow to ram it to his face, followed by a headbutt.

The Rebel should be dozed off for a while which should give Stephens the time to pin him down and Interogate him the 'real' way. Not this comedy show. Shinobi always liked making things funny. This is serious, and fits no time for this nonsense.

Rada didn't exactly understand the term 'moon-lighting' but, fortunatley for the Russian, the SUV turned a corner and the bridge loomed into view, complete with a bus dangling off the edge. The bus wasn't what caught her attention, though- she was more interested in the brightly-costumed figure flying towards it, the sonic boom it created in its haste shattering several windows.

Ryan heard of a new-comer here in Zion. He still didn't know much about him but he wanted to meet the guy. The bad thing was two of their Rebels were captured by Agents. One Agent in particular: Agent Thompson, has been deleted which leaves two left. Ryan boarded one of the Logo ships and prepared to be sent into the Matrix. He might meet the new guy, he was anxious to.

Inside he saw many many people crowding the hallways and rooms of the ship. One man in particular didn't seem to adjust to the atmosphere. He gently tapped the guy on the shoulder.

"Hey. Are you the new guy?" Ryan asked anxiously.

The Architect - Creator of the Matrix usually keeps all the information and codes about his newly formed world. And just in case he needs to tweak the realm or upgrade certain places or programs he can turn to his datapad for information and reference. It contains the things a Rebel would want to get, and including the programs and Agents alike. There is also a rumor that it contains codes that could somehow end the Matrix or the Human world alike. Still the old man replaced it and was stolen. He would never dare go into the Human or Matrix world to retreive it. Wars, fights, and even perusaded deals has gon by and still no one has ever gained possession of it yet. Now years after it is said that it is guarded by a Program known by all. The Merovingian. The rich and powerful Frenchman would never want to fiddle with that techno crap since it would maybe only make matters worse. So he uses it for his advantage. Deals. Threats. Anything. Though he never told anyone about him owning the device as it is only a rumor spread among people to satisfy their minds and relieve the boredom in which they call the Matrix...
