    How are you supposed to play 3D games without an anolgue stick? D-Pads don't cut it. Sony's PSP has a D-Pad too...

    The analogue sticks slowly decay. With a home console you buy a new controller. With a portable, you either gotta send it to repair, or buy a new console. I think that's the reason why neither PSP nor DS has analogue sticks.

    The Metroid game is going to use the touchscreen for aiming, so that's how Nintendo is getting around the lack of analogue. Don't know what Sony's plan is or if they have one.

    I liked the virtual boy. It was unique and enjoyable in my opinion. It's good when they try something different.

    The new DS is certainly droolworthy. More than the PSP?

    DS = $150

    PSP = $270

    It's what everyone seems to think.

    Well, EB seems to think $199, and if that's a case, no DS for me until the price drops. The system seems awesome, but despite what features it has, $200 is ridiculous.

    EB is unrealiable in my experience.

    No matter how ridiculous DS's price is, the PSP's price will be ten times more ridiculous.

    My theory is that it will be 149$, and the PSP will be 279.99$. No PSP for me. The DS looks sexie now :)

    No matter how ridiculous DS's price is, the PSP's price will be ten times more ridiculous.

    I don't think Nintendo would be dumb enough to price it's portable too high. Turbo Graphix 16 priced their portable at a very high price and I think it cost them their shot at the 16 bit war - otherwise how could you resist the fact that the portable played the same cartidges as the console.

    My guess is that Nintendo will price DS around $120-150 and Sony will price PSP around $250-300. Whether or not you prefer PSP or DS is mute because at that price there will be a lot more DS sold than PSP. The real issue is that Nintendo should reconsider the name and call it GameBoy DS simply for the name recognition with parents.

    DS's official retail price will be $199.99 while PSP's price is rumored to be twice as high.I guess the PSP may suffer the fate of the high priced NEO-GEO sytems.Also,Nintendo DS is gonna have online play and everybody knows that Nintendo(and Sega and Namco)make probably the best multiplayer games.For example:
    1.Donkey Konga
    2.Timesplitters II(Better Control)
    3.Diddy Kong Racing
    4.Mario Kart
    5.Mario Tennis
    6.Pokemon(though i don't like it that much)
    7.Phantasy Star Online
    8.Mario Golf
    9.Starfox
    10.Super Monkey Ball
    11.Super Monkey Ball 2
    12.Star Wars:Rebel Strike
    13.Final Fantasy:Crystal Chronicles
    14.Legend of Zelda:Four Swords
    15.Soul Calibur 2(Better Control)
    16.Pacman versus Pacman World
    ...the list pretty much goes on.

    Anyway,the DS seems to have alot more than the PSP like a stylus,dualscreens,touchscreen,WiFi compatability/online play,built-in microphone,and voice recognition,rechargable battery(most likely).Not only that,GBA games are still being made because of the GBA's popularity and the DS's backwards-compatibility with the GBA.So even if you can't afford too many DS games at the moment you can still have alot of games to keep you occupied.

    Where has this been stated officially? AFAIK these price estimates are still only rumors.

    EB is just guessing like the rest of us. Until Nintendo gives an official statement (which they haven't), all prices are speculation.

    EB and Gamestop do this all the time, especially with release dates.
