SWRPF Archive It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad Galaxy

Alright, here's the story:

A group of starships are flying through the Tatooine System. Incidentally, they all decide to land for supplies on Tatooine:

A small sports-ship carrying a young man, his wife, and his mother-in-law

A sedan of a starship carrying a pair of newlyweds on their honeymoon

A sporty starship carrying two friends

A freighter carrying a mover with a bunch of random stuff in hold

As they move along towards landing, another sedan-like starship speeds past them all and burrows into the sand. The other ships land and the men from each ship get out to see that the elderly driver of the ship has flown out. He tells them all, just before he dies, that on Naboo, under a big W, there is a great fortune of money.

Just as he dies, the local police speed over and ask questions of the men. They all tell the police that he was dead when they got to him and go back to their ships.

The first man tells his wife and mom-in-law

The honeymooner tells his wife

The two friends talk it over

The mover thinks to himself

If anyone has ever seen It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, you'll understand the plot and the characters.

So shall we let the race begin? We need:

1) A man (Milton Berle), his wife (Dotty Provine), and his mother-in-law (Ethel Merman)
2) A man (Sid Caeser) and his newly-wed wife (Edie Adams)
3) 2 Friends on vacation (Mickey Rooney and Buddy Hackett)
4) A freighter pilot (Jonathan Winters)
5) A retired officer (Terry-Thomas)
6) Imperial Captain (Spencer Tracy)

Lesser Characters-

5) A Starship captain (Ben Blue)
6) 2 Mechanics (Marvin Kaplan and Arnold Stang)
7) A greedy businessman (Phil Silvers)
8) A rich guy who owns a lot of starships (Jim Backus)
9) The Mom-in-law's son (Dick Shawn)
10) 3 cab drivers (Ed Anderson, Leo Gorcey, Peter Falk)

This sounds complicated, but once it gets going (with adding some famous Star Wars characters into the mix), it should be really fun.

I'll take on the role of the Imperial Officer (Spencer Tracy) who's watching the routes that the cars... er, starships are taking.

hmmm... i've never seen either movie, so i guess i'm screwed.

 

Just go with the flow c_c. Make it up as you go, be random, and make life confusing for the other players.

That's how all great RPGs begin...

 

Yeah what Protégé-Of-Thrawn stated . I mean I should know from experence, for I am always confusing my RPG players and even myself with different stories/movies that no one but I have seen. But thats the whole fun experience of the RPGs.

Everyone. Here are characteristics of the characters (I have character analysis in the parenthesis):

1) Berle- He has to put up with alot. His mother-in-law hates him and disagrees with all his decisions. He is mild-mannered, yet quick-thinking (Han Solo)

2) Provine- She is quiet and basically lets her mother do all of her thinking. She tends to be a follower and agrees with her husband, then her mother (Can't think of anyone)

3) Merman- She is a loud and obnoxious woman who disagrees highly with everything her son-in-law says. She is very protective of her daughter and son (Can't think of anyone)

4) Caeser- In the movie, he is a dentist. He was recently marrried and is going on honeymoon. He jumps before thinking and thinks he knows exactly what to do all of the time (Luke Skywalker)

5) Adams- She questions her husbands judgment alot, however, he doesn't always listen. She truly knows best and tries to help him out (Aunt Beru Lars)

6) Rooney- He's stupid. He's a young kid who thinks fast... too fast! He's bumbling and clumsy (Jar Jar Binks)

7) Hackett- He's basically the yin to Rooney's yang. Without eachother, they would probably die. He's just as stupid as Rooney. (Jar Jar Binks)

8) Winters- He's a bit slow, but he makes up for it with brawn. In the movie, he has a southern accent. (Chewbacca)

9) Terry-Thomas- In the movie, he is a retired British army officer. He is in the south-west US on an "expedition". He is collecting cati in his jeep. He has a british accent and a tooth-gap. He picks up Merman and her daughter after a fight between Berla and them in the movie. (No-one)

10) Tracy- He is an old captain of the police force in the movie. He hears about what they're after and joins in very late when everyone else is bumbling about. (Captain Needa...)
