Cool beans! I'm sooo in the mood for an all night green beer drinking fest. :D

The parades, the crowds at Westport, the green beer, dye in the city fountains, those silly shamrock hats.....I love this holiday. :D

If we began to celebrate America's crapness, we'd never go back to work, ever.

St Patricks Day: A chance for Americans to ignore the fact that most of them have as much in common with Ireland as one of those naff Irish theme pubs.

I think it's funny that our celebration of St. Patricks Day always seems to upset the English so. :D

We don't really understand why you celebrate it...espically when every american claim's to be a 'bit irish' it's not a very big island we think you lot are lying..

I just don't celebrate it cos it's an Irish holiday. It's got nothing to do with being English. I wouldn't celebrate it if I was American either.

    Or America for that matter.

I think we should just set the Irish forum to St Patrick's Day colours and ignore the rest of the JC. [face_devil]

Arun, I actually saw a program about that once. The amount of Americans who claim to have Irish in them is a mathematical impossibility. [face_laugh]

    well, something liek that anyways...

Most of our "holidays" are based on old pagan sabbats and festivals... Samhain (Halloween) being my favourite.

I try and wear something tartan on St Andrews Day but I don't celebrate St Patricks day because I'm not Irish.

Does America have a patron saint...or do they just jump on everyone else's bandwagon?

Thats not a dig, BTW, I really wanna know.

And I despise "Patty". Thats a womans name. We use Paddy over here.
