We'll hold you to that, Mel! ;)

Only watched the end of the semifinal, 'cause I didn't get home until then... so I basically saw the recaps. Was enough for me. :p Well, Sweden made it, which will make the final a bit more interesting. :)

You better get somebody to write me a song, then, because, i can't. :p

And I got me the Romania icon.[face_mischief]
    Go, Elena!
*gets out pompoms and does a cheer*

The final will be interesting, and just so you know I'm planning to crash Enji's place for that.

Mel, I can probably make a Eurovision text for you, so all we need is someone to make the music.

Ohhh, no it's a dancing bear.

I love that the Swedish commentator calls the hosts "the TV-presenters that God forgot"

Croatia - this is scary. The song is better than I remembered, but I can't stand him, or her. I'm bored, when is it over?
Ireland - I like to quote the lyrics "I've heard it oh, so many times". Cool effects with the lights on the stage though. I don't think it will go to the final.
Latvia - I like the chorus girls' dresses. It seriously gives me a headache.
Serbia - apparently it's all about shoes. This is crazy, but in a good way. I like it, it's probably even better if you understand the language. Don't ask me why, but the guy playing the accordion makes me think about Wolverine.
Poland - Ballet dancing seems to be a trend. The voice is too weak and strained in the top, and she misses some notes. If you want to have a stage act like a big power ballad, gospel singers included, then you need some power in the performance for it to work.
Norway - You hear that the audience already loves this song. He kills the bow. The song is good though, it feels strange to be Swedish and actually support Norway.

You can try to annex them again? Though, how long did that last the last time?;)

I can't find the semi-finales in German TV.:(

Cyprus - I still think her brother really owes her a lot for making her take part in this. The worst voice in the competition, at least the Bulgarian could hit some notes, she can't.
Slovakia - it's elegant, and he's kind of cute/hot. The song isn't as good as the performance though. Still I wouldn't mind to see it again, in the final.
Ireland - Oh, sorry I mean Denmark. It's attack of the Boyzone Clone, the rest of the band have too much hair though. Just to explain Ireland had a song written by a Swede/Dane, Denmark goes to Ireland for its entry. Eurovision sure is international.

Can't we vote off the hosts?

Slovenia - It sounds like the British group Bond, and I have two of their CD's. Can't but help it, I like the instrumental parts. Hmm, cute viola player. At least he has more clothes on her, she doesn't look like a porn wannabe like in the video.
Hungary - Why did he change clothes????? This surely is 80's nostalgia. I could dance to this. He's supposed to be a musical artist, but has some obvious problems with singing and dancing at the same time.
Sweden - hey it's easier to spell than Azerbadzjan, and since the singer is Swedish (he commentated part of the first semi-final for Swedish TV), the producers are Swedish, the dancers are Swedish and it's written by Swedes, I think we can call it Sweden. He's clearly nervous. It sounds like a Swedish dancefloor, I think this will be a summer hit around here. Can she stop winking, please.

Sweden might not have won in 10 years, but that entry was the fourth just in this semi-final with Swedish writers or producers.

Greece - There must be a lot of girls who think he's hot, I'm not one of them. Cool with the conveyor belt dancing though. (Oh, and this entry has Swedish chorus/dance girls)
Lithuania - Talk about contrast to Greece, much more musicality in this. It annoys me that the piano goes on playing, when he has left. Makes me wonder if he played it all.
Moldova - finally some ethnic stuff, I've missed the ethnic and silly entries this year. She looks just like Tenel Ka.
    [image=http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/thumb/a/aa/TenelKa1.jpg/200px-TenelKa1.jpg]
Albania - Ok, the dancers are just plain weird. Two mini ninjas, in white face paint, and the Silver surfer, but in green. The song is quite good.
Ukraine - The stage is the coolest yet. Nice to see the guys with hardly any clothes, big difference from the video. I get Madonna vibes from her, she has a great body but I still think she's probably around 50. I think this is going to end up in the top in the final.
Estonia - there is a strong classical influence in the entries this year. String instruments and opera voices. Way better than Slovenia when it comes strinq quartetts.
The Netherlands - Ahhhhrgggh, my eyes. Help, itshould be illegal to put that many sequins on a piece of fabric. The chorus girls are fun though. Is this serious or is it a joke?

I want more dancin bears! And isn't it quite boring that if they are going to folkdances from Europe, they pick almost only eastern European dances, except for Spanish start.

So tonight it's the big thing. I'm also pretty clear now on that my favourites are:

    Bosnia & Herzegovina
    Norway
    Sweden

In the end I think that it will be between Norway and Ukraine, Norway for the music and Ukraine for the big stageshow.

All acts I thought funny are out, so that leaves only Norway. *sigh*

    Go Romania! :p

Not sure I can psot during the contest as I will have people around watching with me. I don't know how they'll react. I'll see.
    Also looking forward to Dita.[face_whistling]

Johanna is forcing me to write something here, so I am... but I don't KNOW what song I want to win! I'm still just sad Serbia didn't make it through... ;)

Hmm. Well, kinda looking forward to the intermission act... can it really top the ones in the semifinals? ;)

Bosnia&Herzegovina's entry reminded me just too much of two songs from the stage musical Chess, and the two songs did not really mix.

Well Norway did win, it's not that common for big favourites to win, so I'm surprised. Still it was my second favourite, so I'm happy.

Sweden could have gotten more points though.

And Mel guessed the right winner, so feel free to use any colours you would like until the 23rd.

Okay, Skimpy Dress Award goes to AySel for actually showing her silver undies, second place to Svetlana Loboda with Turkey in third.
Worst English Award has too many competitors, so share.:p
Bavarians on LSD Award goes to those ethno people with the light show.[face_hypnotized]

And why the hell was Dita showing up at all, when the camera constantly didn't show her?

Also, I think the German song was better than the points it got.
I'm just glad Norway won, seeing who was on the other high places.

    Oh, go Romania!
I think somebody has to write me a song for next year now.:p

Seriously, why was Dita there when you never got to see her?

The German song wasn't even that bad. There were worse people on stage.
And dang it -- what's up with all these people trying to sing English? *shudders* Now that was horrible.

At least this year a northern European country won.

I am from Sweden, and the Swedish entry's chorus got stuck on repeat in my head the first time I had heard it, but the verse feels like it had been put on with duct tape at the last minute. Therefore I did not think that it deserved to win.

I did not care much for Serbia's or Germany's entries, sorry.

Ucraine gets my awards for having 1) the most incoherent stage show, 2) the porniest stage show, with its body builder-dancers doing obscene gestures. It was hard to listen to the music, because I was laughing so hard.

I liked the fact that they had so many male background dancers around this time. Eye candy, even if you had to use ear plugs from time to time.[face_laugh]
