I feel bad for not being able to identify everyone in that drawing.

well, dg, the flags are easy and im sure you got them but for the benefit of others the girl on the front left is philippines, japan of course next to her, then thailand, then the chinese nationalists. above the chinese nationalist is manchukuo, and next to her is burma who's like way too excited to be there. the dude next to burma's wearing a songkok which makes him malay, and the dude in the turban and shirt is wearing red and white so he's gotta be indonesia.

the two girls at the back are tough. the girl in yellow at the very back is maybe the "free india" puppet state-in-waiting or singapore. im pretty stumped about the girl with the funky hood thing. my best guess would be that, from the funky tropical flower in her hair and the tendency to depict less militarized cultures in this picture as female (as i allude to in my title) is that she's taiwan/formosa

korea is, of course, not pictured because by this time they were already considered japan's lock-stock-and-barrel and didn't bear their own representation

Given that it's Japan, I'm more surprised they aren't all little girls.

If Korea isn't pictured because it was already "Japan's", wouldn't that mean Taiwan would not be pictured either? I'm wondering if the hooded girl is Bruneian.

Also why does this thread exist? So you can show us you know what a songkok is? :p

You think you're better than me with your ability to recognize east Asian nations depicted as small children? Well you're not.

I like how the one in the middle has her hand up, all "Pick me, pick me!"
