    More like it.

Plus, I agree heartily with DB.

    OWEN > BENT

Yeah, but Owen needs to have a good season to keep that fact safe. If he struggles this season, then I think legitimate concerns could be raised over his long term prospects. Previously he's bounced back from long term injury, but there's only so many times one can do that.

    Yep. Agreed.

This season is the season of making or breaking for the little Owen man.

Bent will score more goals this season than A_J and most certainly Owen. please copy this post, print it out and stick it on your refrigerator.

Depends. AJ will start every Everton game he is fit for. Can't say the same for Bent at Tottingham.

that's the only forseeable problem, true. Tottenham have probably the best forward combination in the premiership. however i expect Berbatov and Bent to be the regular starting line up.

I will have an e-bet with you, e, that Owen will score more goals in the Prem than Benty-boy.

    Oooo.

I reckon Jol will pair Berbatov and Keane to begin with, as Keane has done nothing to give Jol reason to drop him. If things don't motor, then I can see Bent replacing Keane.

    Okay. Two choices:

    Real life choice

A bottle of something gloriously alcoholic to be sent to the winner by the loser. I will happily give up my work address via PM to you when I am victorious. You will not need to give up any such address, as clearly you will be on the side marked 'losing'.

    or

    e-life choice

Assuming that she is agreeable, Ms Wuli gets to administer the e-punishment she sees fit, to whomever loses (this will of course be you). I am quite sure she will concoct something suitably e-evil, that will make either or us (ie, you) look suitably e-stupid in front of teh JCC.

The loser (spelt with a small 'e'), must e-oblige.

    ....

    You takes your pick, Sir.

well, we won't find out who loses for awhile yet. ;-)

i assume this is JUST the premiership, and not all competitions, JR?

    Good grief.

    Talk about inflated prices.

    Plus, he's not very good.

Just watched Everton draw 2-2 with Werder Bremen. Decent friendly. I thought we were the better side but as usual prone to silly mistakes (both Bremen's goals resulted from stupid defending) and didn't capitalise on our territorial domination - or indeed, a zillion and one corner kicks.

Anyway, Spain must have some incredibly good midfielders if Mikel Arteta can't get an international look-in. Arteta was quite brilliant tonight.

If Xabi Alonso, Iniesta or Joaquin are better players than Arteta, I'll eat my hat.

Fabregas is, sure, but one swallow...

i'm somewhat disappointed we didn't give Rossi more of a chance, although that is a decenty price. we better damn well sign Tevez, though.

i watched the game also and yes, Arteta was awesome. hence him being in my Sun dream team for 4m. the Bremem keeper did well to keep Everton out on a few occasions.

And, even though it's only slightly related to the topic: Hannover 3 - Real Madrid 0.
