I wonder why the different spellings of the name? You can get that candy in the US-one of my favorite actually-except it's spelled T-o-f-f-i-f-a-y:

The 4 pack is much more handy than the 15 piece box.....

    Phonetically spelled for Americans

But why would they consider it important that it's pronounced like that?
Seems awfully unpractical from a logistic viewpoint.

Maybe the U.S. distributor objected to having the word "fee" in the brand name.

I've never tried to quit smoking and this is still how I feel on public transport.

I suppose the controlling factor would be how they are pronounced? When one asks for a Toffifee in original German, does it sound like "Toffi-fay?" Because the double e would be unwieldy in the US to get the "fey" sound. (assuming both are pronounced the same)

If the name actually sounds like "fee," then it has to be the result of some corporate egghead decision like what Jabba mentioned...

Yes, it's pronounced "fay", and it means...
    "fairy".

Chantix! changed my life. Easiest thing in the world to quit on Chantix and I was a two pack a day smoker for nearly 30 years.

Congrats on your success so far! Keep up the great work, dude.

Shame is failure leaving the body*. Get your butt in gear and back in the thread.

*I just made that up so it probably makes no sense whatsoever.

I put on 8 kilos when I gave up smoking. That may have been because I also gave up working in a factory and playing drums and replaced those activities with studying but nevertheless putting on a little weight goes with the territory. I understand that doctors in the 1950s used to prescribe cigarettes to pregnant women to help them control weight.

You're doing good! How are those patches?

I went without for a day but I just got too damn grumpy, so I stuck a new one on today. Seems to help.

Now I just have to contain myself and not lick it.

The gum isn't too bad, if you're into that sort of thing. It even tastes a little like a cig. I tried the gum in the past, and I liked it better than the patch. I was pretty allergic to the adhesive in the patch, though... gave me crazy square rashes.

Yeah, the patch really irritated my skin. The gum seemed to work but I went through them way too fast :p

I've definitely learned that everybody is a bit different. I wanted to try celebrix or welbutrin but those drugs are submarine disqualifying. I'm super happy I discovered e-cigs, though. They made all the difference in the world.

As well as can be expected, thanks - no cigarettes, no patches, but no smile, either.

I just made myself a special soup, maybe that'll make a change.

Thanks for the offer but I'm still a non-banning mod, remember.

And I'd make myself bannable if I told you what was really in that soup.

Would be cool if the thread in which I quit smoking ends up being the thread that spawns the most new smokers.
